One of the best books on Dylan and his music. Takes an album-by-album approach, and looks at the music in an accessible and critical way, as well as in the context of the particular point in Dylan's career in which each album was made. Eminently readable, Riley's prose is engaging and his thoughts are well-formed and sensible. Unfortunately, not updated past Dylan's early-90's output, it is still an essential guide for fans looking for more than just a record review, and less than a biography. Sections listing Dylan's discography and some bootlegs are a bonus. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
