    Great Book

Matthews takes you behind the stage to show you what you've always suspected. An entertaining and educational book on American politics. A must read for anyone that likes to follow politics. High Schools should add this book to their civics' curriculum.

    Must read for students

This book is a hard-hitting, tell-it-like-it- is collection of stories told by a true Washington insider. Anyone interested in the workings of our national government-- especially those looking to crack onto the scene--need to read this book. If nothing else, it will entertain you by revealing stories of famous politicians before they made a name for themselves.

Good Insight but remember its just one mans point of view

Overall a good book, really helps explain how power is obtained in Washington. Chris doesn't go into as much detail as i expected and the book is really short to be claimed as the must read to get into Washington. He has been in the game for a long time but doesn't mean he knows everything, Chris officially hasn't been a politician himself so his point of view is limited.

    Not a Good Buy

This book is a waste of time and money. Unless you have to read this book there would be no sense in purchasing it.

    Boring book

The book is boring and a complete waste of time and money. God, there is nothing more boring than reading this book. If it wasn't for the government class i am taking, i would burn the book into ashes. Can't believe those people call it the Politicians handbook or guide into the white house card-box. Gee....don't read the book unless you are completely into how people gain their power...

    A HUGE waste of time

I thought that this book was a complete waste of money. The entire book could be summed up in the titles of the chpaters. The actual 'content' consisted of name dropping and promotion for his own show.

    Officially My New Favorite Book

Hardball was extremely interesting, kind of like a modern-day Prince (Machiavelli) mixed with a little of Ender's Game (Orson Scott Card); it's like Ender's Game in that it really holds your attention while giving you key rules of thumb

Insightful Commentary from the Trenches of Washington

As a self-described political junkie, this book is truly engrossing. I¿m on my second reading. Thank you, Mr. Mathews.

    POLITICS TODAY

THIS BOOK WAS A HARDHITTING WAKE UP CALL ON MY KNOWLEDGE OF POLITICS,IT REALLY WAS AN EYEOPENER ON THE CORRUPTIVE VIEW OF POLITICS TODAY. THE FIRST CHAPTER BASICLY TALKED ABOUT SOME OF THE GREAT AND CORRUPT POLITICIANS, SUCH AS LBJ.
