From the Dust Bowl to California Squatter Camps
A must read of Steinbeck as journalist on the condition of destitute people from the Midwest seeking a new start in California. Capitalism at its worse. Too few farm owners tried to give decent living conditions to those "harvest gypsies" and the state gave some hope and some dignity to the migrants thanks to experimental camps provided for them. Powerful journalism by the simple telling of the bare reality. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
