    Lost in War chapter one

I wake up extra early that morning.i have long brown hair and dark blue eyes just like my sister. My sister isnt in the bed with me. Of course shes with our mother. Ever since she turnd 11 this day has been a nightmare. Little Carrie has nightmeres about this day. Its called The Calling. They call 8 kids- four girls four guys to fight in a war. Its there war so why shoukd we fight it for them. Of course they were the government and thy were always going like we need mre soliders yadda yadda yadda why not let the kids fight yadda yadda yadda. I am suppoused to scared what if I die. Im 14 but im not little. Ever since the government stole food suplys its up to me to feed the familiy. But thas hard for me. Luckily i have a frien named Jason. He knows how to hunt and taught me. I can nevr ue traps or bows and arros but i can use spears. My mother wks out of her room with Carrier hanging on her night gown. "Its early Rose why not go back to sleep" she says. "The early bird cat-" i begin to say. "Todays The Calling and you need your sleep" she interrupts. "Im not tired" I lied. "Go to sleep" Mom orders me. I truge to my bed and lay down. I drift slowly off to sleep. I wake up a few houres later. I check the clock. 12:50. In ten minutes its the Calling. I get dressed and go downsairs. I quietly eat a the clock goes tick tock tick tock. Finailay its 1:00 . The Calling. We walk outside. Other familys g to the center. I gie a sideway glance at Jason. He waves. A tall girl with bright pink clothes on coes on the stage. "Hello Villiage 13 time for the Calling. Of course i call up the girls first. It is Jenny Willems. Sara Hourgett. Melleinia Yarlock. And Roseillen Torkoll" my heart starts to beat fast. I barely ea her call out the boys names "Jason HerPokilo" she fishises. I walks up on the stage. "Hello my name is Kimbo Garnater. I will come to your every need. Untill the battle of course" she laughs. Village 1 2 and 3 or the Citys are rich and have funny trends. "Of course you will be going to Village 4" she tells us. Why cant she just say guess what your gonna die soon but for now... tha wuld ne easeir to understand. "Come on" she says. We follow her The ship. A large man walks oit. "You were chosen to serve our country by going into war. Our first stop is Village 4" he shouts. "You mean The Training Area" someine calls. "Yes you better listen hard because your lives depend on it" he leads up on the Ship. We go in oairs. I go with Jason. He has a large build with dark greenish eyes and blonde hair. "Hey Rose" he says as i sit down. "Hello Jason" i mummble. "Whats wrong " he asked. "Im leaving Carrie" i remind him. I start to drift off to sleep not bothering to hear his comment....
