The author does a very good job of immersing the reader in the world of Haven. Page after page following the adventures of Stephen Carlisse is more like watching a good movie more than reading a book. I had trouble putting this book down and had finished it in only a few evenings. I was pleasantly surprised by the twists in the plot and the uniqueness of the story. I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a good read. I can only hope the author continues to entertain us with continued stories and adventures from the world of Haven.

Haven

Juvenile nonsense. The writer knows nothing about the military, civics, or life. Charactors are shallow, one-dimensional and their actions are mostly silly, stupid, or both. Unless you are hard-up for a "Christian" read, avoid this one.

    Pass

The first half was better than the last half. The last 20 pages were painfully boring. Too much remember past events and deaths, including things from before the story started. It was all too shallow. Characters too plastic.

The fighter training and battles were unbelievable ... and beyond boring. Especially silly was an injured Stephen running and catching up to a warship flying overhead.

I don't know what book the 4 and 5 star reviewers read, but it definitely was not the one I read.

    Don't bother with this one

Only good thing I can say about this, is that there is a story in there somewhere.
Narration is choppy. I had to keep backing up to find where the story line jumped (again!)
Characters don't act in ways that are "in character".
Description sounds like it was done by an eighth grader with a thesaurus..
Ending was not only lame, but way too trite and "convenient"
