Best introduction to CSS.

CSS is logical and (in retrospect), not that hard to understand. But I'd tried to get a handle on it with a different book and was floundering in a sea of new concepts. The Head First book leads you by the hand and introduces ideas gradually, and in the best order. The book contains good exercises that force you to figure things out. The authors often explain concepts more than once, and in more than one way. By the time I was done with the book, I had the basics of CSS nailed.

proofreading?

I haven't read the book, but it's a little off-putting to have a glaring typo on the FRONT COVER. I don't know if I want to 'Lauch' my web career in one chapter or not. I gave it three stars because the B&N review was very complimentary and the writers' style sounds ...
I haven't read the book, but it's a little off-putting to have a glaring typo on the FRONT COVER. I don't know if I want to 'Lauch' my web career in one chapter or not. I gave it three stars because the B&N review was very complimentary and the writers' style sounds intruiging. (I'm all for more humor in the world!)

Flawed exercise makes entire book suspect

When I purchased this book I wanted more than a hip, new-age way of getting me to absorb the material, I wanted the exercises in the book to work. Like myself, others were probably influenced to purchase the book by the pictures, cartoons, and sometimes irreverent prose. None of us could test out the book's exercises in the store. I can't vouch for other purchasers, but once I got the book in front of my computer I began at the beginning and in the first exercise, uh oh, problems. It didn't work properly. I am not alone. One just has to go the Head Labs online forums to read that the exercise apparently wasn't tested on the world's most popular browser, IE6. If the first, and what logically should be the simplest, exercise in the book is flawed what disappointments and frustrations do the following 620 pages have in store for us IE users.
