Healing Her Heart is the start of what I assume a new series by

Healing Her Heart is the start of what I assume a new series by Audra North, called Stanton Family. This is also the first time I try her book and well, I like her voice.

I rarely reading about medical romance, and the first medical novel I read was Demonica series. And it's paranormal, so some part can be considered as not real. As for Healing Her Heart, it's relate with our daily lives. I once want to be a doctor, but I chicken out in Biology class and so, I bury my dream to be a doctor. But, I have many friends that are doctors, and it's always fascinating to see their life and some facts about them that surprised me.

What happen to Greg Stanton, a cardiac surgeon can happen to anyone, and it's very humane. If I'm in his shoes, I'm not sure I can't handle the pressure. While I like Carrie (you know, when I read this, I always hummed "Carrie" song and imagine Chloe Moretz in her Carrie remake, lol!), sometimes she's too hard to herself. Her hurt and heart wound was too deep, and I can't blame her. I know that women can hold a grudge for a long time (yeah, I know it!), so it's normal that she think Greg just used her to calm his mind. Ms North handle their situation with a grace and make this novella is a satisfying read for me. I also love Greg and Carrie interaction with New Beginnings residents. So warm, full of laugh and also some wise advice about life.

There was a hint for another member of Stanton family, like Greg's sister Lily and her beau, Bruno. If Lily's have her own story, I don't know if her significant other will be Bruno. I think Bruno's name is.. a little bit weird for hero name (no offense for anyone with name "Bruno").

If you love your contemporer romance steamy and need a quick read, Healing Her Heart is a perfect choice. Also this give you a first glimpse into the new series by Ms North. And well, I can't wait to read the first novel of Stanton Family!
