We're having a Heat Wave (Name the lyricist)
I am an avid fan of ABC's Castle (Monday nights 10/9c) and was excited to read Richard Castle's latest book, Heat Wave. For those who are not in the know, Nathan Fillion stars as Richard Castle, a famous mystery novelist who is initially called in to help the NYPD solve a copy-cat murder based on his novels. Stana Katic stars opposite as the young detective Kate Beckett. Following his encounter with Beckett, Castle decides to use her as the model for his next book series. He uses his contacts and receives permission to accompany Beckett while investigating cases. [thanks Wikipedia] Heat Wave is the first of Castle's new book series: Nikki Heat. My favorite thing is every character is believable & I can picture all of them. I love Rook and Heat and their scenes are amazing. I can totally picture Castle dreaming & writing each scene they are in together. And if you are asking yourself, does it really have a story line? Yes, in fact, it takes so many twists and turns that the minute you think you have a suspect, new information comes in and you have to re-evaluate all the evidence. Some points drag on a bit but it helps you get into the story; you are right there in NYC traffic with Heat & Rook trying to fly but the siren means absolutely nothing in the standstill of traffic. When scenes get too tense, Characters are there to crack a joke or banter between each other, including how many ways to describe a bookie's muscle. Overall, ABC did a great job on this TV tie in and the writers should be applauded and given pay raises. I hope to get more Nikki Heat and I am hoping Det. Beckett reads Heat Wave and comments about the book; especially the blackout sequences.

As good as the show
While I was a little disappointed when the book arrived and it was only 198 pages long, I soon got over it. I loved the fact that I could really picture what Rook (Castle) and Heat (Beckett) looked like all through the book. It paralleled the show a lot, but I really liked that it did. I actually laughed out loud a couple of times and snickered a lot. That is my idea of a good book. I am going to wait patiently for the next book in the series. A guy can like this book, yes? Anyway, in the meantime I've already read I LOVE YOUS ARE FOR WHITE PEOPLE and I recommend that book as well. Outstanding!

Addictive
I love the show "Castle" and when I heard that they were releasing a book tie-in I just had to get it to see if it was any good and it was. From the moment I picked it up I couldn't set it down, the story paralleled the show's main characters perfectly and it was very exciting to see the relationship between Nikki Heat and Jameson Rook evolve throughout the story right up until the end and I cant wait for the next one.

Nikki Heat
I love the TV Series Castle and was thrilled to find out about the book Heat Wave. I was able to picture each character as I was reading. If you are a fan of the show, you don't want to miss this! I am trying to figure out who the ghost writer is. So much fun. I hope there will be another.

April Fool!
This is the best April Fool's joke I've ever seen - even if it is October. Also Brilliant marketing! Bravo to two of the best mystery writers ever. What a dream team. Thanks for the fun on and off the screen and for these great characters. It's delicious.

EXCITING! FUN!
Matthew Starr falls from his sixth floor luxury condo. NYPD Detective Nikki Heat is on the case and knows it is murder right away and soon discovers that he wasn't as well off as everyone thought. The interview with the deceased's trophy wife twenty eight year old Kimberly after their seven year old son is taken outside by the nanny soon reveals to the cops that she is lying about her alibi and her affair with Barry Gable. This is exciting and fun and keeps your interest throughout.

A Sorry Attempt
Since I enjoy 'Castle' so much, I really anticipated reading this book. I was chagrined to find it not different than any second-rate mystery. It cannot have been written by the show's writing staff; there was no hint of the quality of the relationships, nor was the dialogue other than ordinary. It was a sad attempt to profit from a tie-in with a popular program.

Must Read for Fans of Castle TV
"Heat Wave" is a must read for anyone who watches the television series "Castle" with Nathan Fillion. In the show, the lead character - Richard Castle - has written a book called "Heat Wave." When you read the book, you can hear the dialogue in the actors' voices and it makes you laugh out loud. I'd love to know who actually wrote this book; as much as I love Nathan Fillion the actor, I don't think he did. Maybe James Patterson, who is an occasional guest on the show? Whoever wrote it, it's a fun read, especially if you are a fan of the show.

Castle and Beckett - spicy chemistry takes off in the printed word
SO FUN! My Houston Texas fan club counts down the hours between "Castle" Episodes! Sexy chemistry between the 2 main character's pithy, clever verbal exchanges are translated from the small screen to the written word. The book "works", too! So, I understand Castle MAY be getting a 3 book deal - I say, GOOD FOR ME!

If you love the show Castle then you will like this book
This is like reading an episode of the TV series. Even with the name changes you still picture each of the characters as the characters of the show. It's a simple read, but very entertaining.

A good start for Nikki Heat
If you're a fan of the show you'll enjoy the book. They've carried the banter and relationships over to the print version. Was a good story with some nice twists. A good read. Could have been a little longer but it is enjoyable. If they come out with a second book in the series, would I pick it up...Yes, it would be worth it and an enjoyable read.

Note from another Love obsessed Teen<3
I am a huge Castle fan, so when i found out Heat Wave was being released i freaked. i was hopeing it would be just like Kate and Rick's relationship, but with that little extra something they're missing. And it was, i absolutely LOVED this book. i recomend it to all Castle fans, as well as ones who aren't. and im hoping Nikki & Rook's relationship will lead to our own Caskett love:) -Caskett Crazed

Best Idea Ever!!!
I'm a huge Castle fan and actually having Rick Castle's book written is quite possibly the greatest idea ever. It was basically like reading the show. The characters' personalities (and their names) reflect the ones in the show and the plot worked generally the same way. Many quotes and moments were directly taken from the show as well. Definitely a MUST READ for any Castle fan!!!

Very enjoyable
I really enjoyed this book, it was a fast read. What adds to the enjoyment is you can visualize the characters from the tv show in the book, especially the cracks and lines betwen Heat and Rook. Very enjoyable read.

Heat Wave
I thought this was a great book. Not to huge and fun to read in a day or just take your time. I am also a fan of the tv show Castle for which the book was written so it helps to understand it a bit. But over all it's a wonderful book and I would recommend it to anyone.
