    Absolutly thrilling

The book was thrilling, and kept me hooked, wanting to see what Sophie Mae would uncover next.

    Super characters

I love the characters, feel like I know them well. There is always a twist and I have not figured one out yet. Look forward to the next book.

Nice entry in the Home Crafting Mystery series

This is the second entry in Cricket McRae's Home Crafting series (Lye in Wait was the first). The main character, Sophie Mae Reynolds, has a small business making soap and other beauty products. She is a young widow and shares a home with a divorced friend, Meghan, and Meghan's precocious daughter Erin. This cozy series comes complete with recipes - some edible, some bath & beauty products.

Sophie Mae has started volunteering at a local crisis hotline that's based at the Heaven House Community Center. Her first shift she has an odd call - and ends up with a stalker! Then the head of the Center dies of botulism poisoning - and Sophie Mae is convinced it's murder.

I wasn't as convinced this time that Sophie Mae acted logically - she seemed to overreact in some circumstances, causing her to take significant risks. That said, I'll be back for the next one - if only to find out how Erin does at the regional Spelling Bee!

    I Also Recommend:

A great crafting mystery maybe better than the first

I stayed up too late finishing this one! Sophie Mae plays detective again getting herself in trouble just like in Lye in Wait. The second book of the series has both a murder and a twist. McRae's plot decidely heated up towards the end. I look forward to the next book in the series, not only for the fun but the recipes!
