I love MJD and this book keeps to her nature.

Although it's not her usual story it has a great story line. Easy read. Wish she would do more in this story as I love the main characters.

Caitlyn James is salon-owner in her mid-twenties, a woman who changes her hairstyle to suit her needs and moods. After a limo accident in Miami (a trip she had taken with her best pals to celebrate her birthday), she wakes up in a Minnesota hospital only to discover that she's been fixed up with nanobytes--she's the new Six Billion Dollar woman. None too thrilled that she's been enhanced without her knowledge or permission, Caitlyn has trouble adjusting to her newfound powers--and the fact that she now is indebted to The Boss, the man who had her enhanced and who runs a top-secret government organization.

Caitlyn agrees to perform one job for The Boss--find and "neutralize" the guy responsible for infecting the world's computers with nasty viruses that download porn on a person's computer. When she finds the suspect, she realizes the geek only needs a thirty-second sexual encounter to curb his porn-virus habits.

Only, of course, one job isn't enough for The Boss. There's another cyborg-enhanced OSF Agent loose in the world, someone who has gone rogue and is killing the doctors who make up the team that made them. The Boss is determined that Caitlyn will find the rogue agent--who he believes is Dmitri--and bring him to justice. Unfortunately, Dmitri is the first guy Caitlyn's been attracted to in a long time, and she has doubts that he's really the killer.

Another MJD story with a sassy, loud-mouthed heroine, a to-die-for hero, and a best friend who pulls no punches in the form of Stacy, HELLO, GORGEOUS! is a quick, fast read.

The story is rather short, but it's funny and typical MJD.

Caitlyn woke up to find out she died, was revived and now shares her body with some nanobytes which she was not too happy about. Because of this she ends up working for the organization that saved her - to be more specific for a man referred to as the Boss whom she dislikes. Her bff Stacey on the otherhand falls for the Boss. On a pressing matter, Caitlyn is sent off to meet another human enhanced 'yummypants' named Dmitri, together they try to solve the mystery surrounding the death of the the very group of people who made them. The book is very easy to read, it took me about 2 hours to finish it. What puzzles me is why Caitlyn hates almost everything, she's supposed to be smart but lacks understanding and depth.

what a let down.

the premise of the story was really original, a girl turned into a cyborg who is indebted to the goverment and has to do their bidding. very fresh. too bad the heroine, caitlyn, is a pain in the behind. at first she was amusing, but as the book goes on she becomes more obnoxious and irritating. if it had focused more on the plot and the romance it would have been tons better... but because of caitlyn's personality, the book was ruined for me. :(

So disappointed

I read about this book from somewhere, and I remember feeling pretty excited about it. The premise sounded promising and funny. What I didn't realize was how the short the book is. At only 195 pages, there's almost no room for character development. From beginning to end, every character is completely one dimensional. The solution to the whole murder mystery was completely ridiculous. The heroine, Caitlin James was an annoying, shallow, empty-headed, frivolous whiner. She spent all her time yammering on about some stupid subject or another or else threatening to kill 'The Boss.' Honestly, I know the reader is supposed to feel for her, as she's the main character, but she was so irritating that I started to sympathize with 'The Boss' for having to put up with her! The hero, Dmitri something or other,was alright. Aside from being gorgeous, he didn't have much going for him. I didn't think he had much of a personality. The one good thing about the book is the way the reader is made aware of the killer's identity. The reason for the murders is stupid but I admire the clever way the killer is revealed. And the sex scenes were hot.

Sexy, funny read

Hello Gorgeous is another laugh out loud, hot and steamy read by MaryJanice Davidson. Caitlyn James wakes up from the party to end all parties in some clinic where she is told she is the new bionic woman. To say Caitlyn doesn¿t take it well is an understatement. Caitlyn fights it every step of the way. When she meets THE BOSS its not a warm and fuzzy moment but ripe with sarcasm and wit. Caitlyn is asked to find out who is killing off the scientists that created her a whole new trouble comes her way. She at first thinks Dmitri Novakav is the person doing the killings and is appalled that she is so attracted to him. But they both find out that they are pawns being set up to destroy each other. Dmitri has never met anyone like Caitlyn and doesn¿t know how to handle the feeling she brings out. They both join forces on and off the job to get to the bottom of the killings. Caitlyn is a riot and once she gets going there is no stopping her. I loved how she was so protective of her friends and the intense chemistry between herself and Dmitri. MaryJanice Davidson is a writing force I am so glad I found. The humor is off the charts and her stories are spell bounding.

amusing science fiction romance

Nine days apparently have passed since Minneapolis hair salon owner Caitlyn James tragically died in Florida on her twenty-fourth birthday in a limousine crash. However, the heavenly afterlife is not someone doing her hair, but a top secret government agency brings her back to life using nanotechnology to turn her into a cyborg. Caitlyn is okay with being a borg just as long as she can get back to running her salon, however her ¿saviors¿ have other plans for her to complete first. --- Someone is killing the egghead geeks. They demand that Caitlyn use her new superhuman bionic powers to uncover the identity of the serial killer and stop him preferably by bringing the rogue to the agency. The prime suspect is the other cyborg loose on an unsuspecting populace, Dmitri known as ¿Wolf¿. Ironically Wolf believes Caitlyn is the killer who he must stop. When they meet they suspect one another, but also are incredibly attracted to one another. --- MaryJanice Davidson¿s unique brand of zaniness makes this science fiction romance a must read for fans who appreciate a humorous out of this world tale. The story line is fast-paced and filled with zingers, but both cyborgs seem genuine and the serial killer who-done-it is cleverly devised to provide a fun mystery as well as a means to keep the distrust level high between the lead couple. Though the relationship between the cyborgs seems a bit on the nano side, readers will appreciate Ms. Davidson¿s not so subtle response to a boomer nostalgia question: what would happen if the bionic woman and the six million dollar man mated? Now we just need to know whether their offspring is an android or human.--- Harriet Klausner

Smart, Snappy, and Sexy

You've got to love a wise-cracking heroine who can hold her own, whether in the beauty shop or on the streets. Caitlyn's life was rolling right along until her death in a limo crash changed not only her life, but her physical abilities as well. Brought back to life by a team of eggheads who turn her into someone better than the Bionic Woman, Caitlyn reluctantly must learn who is killing off the same set of eggheads. Enter Dmitri, code name 'Wolf', a guy with almost the same capabilities as Caitlyn. Each believe the other is the killer, and their path to the truth will leave you laughing and sighing. This story also features a secondary romance that ties in beautifully with the plot. Excellent light-hearted reading.
