A Great tool for Holistic Health at a reasonable price
Paul Twitchell's book, Herbs the Magic Healers, is a remarkable piece of work especially if we look at it from the standpoint of the time it was written: the Sixties. To give an example of what I am trying to convey, I will relate this to an illness my father had during this time period. His physical condition had gotten so bad that he could not walk from the front door of our family home to the mailbox without being out of breath and needing to stop and rest. A distance of about 45 feet or 15 yards. When he went to the doctors (note the plural) he was told he needed heart bypass surgery. My father started to explore alternative healing and found out about vitamin E and other things. He then proceeded to change his diet, take mega doses of certain vitamins and ended up never having to have the procedure. The doctors he told about what he had done were saying he was insane and such things. However, none could deny his being completely cured. The bottom line here is that back then the idea of diet, supplements, relaxtion/healing techniques like visualization & contemplation & affirmations were not taught in the curriculum of any the medical schools here in the United States. Twitchell's book, is just another example of his groundbreaking ideas and techniques for physical, emotional and spiritual well being. Remarkably, the passage of time still finds this work an extremely helpful, insightful and worthwhile tool for maintaining a high level of overall health. Was this review helpful?
