    Unforgettable Characters, Powerful Messages

This book was difficult to put down. Each chapter comes from the perspective of a different character, which makes it addicting to keep reading to find out all the subplots. Abercrombie has a specific writing style for each of his characters, and he moves between them effortlessly, without distracting from the reading - it only enhances the connection made to the characters.

The plot is exciting, troubling, thrilling, unexpected... The messages about war are as true today as they would've been when fighting with swords was prevalent. This book stands strongly alone, but I wouldn't hesitate to read his other novels with these characters. JOE! PUT ALL YOUR BOOKS ON NOOK! Absolutely loved this book.

As a female reader, I appreciated the heroism of the female characters as well. Each character has to overcome struggles, and everything is "realistic" in this fantasy world. Abercrombie has some true talent in making this book come alive in the reader's imgination. Highly, highly recommend to any reader looking for a moving and thrilling book.

    Abercrombie writes another great

Overall very good, loved the POV characters (espically Gorst), great plot setting and most importantly it staved off my abercrombie reading addiction for another 6 months (maybe). p.s seemed like JB got alot of inspiration from the battle of Gettysberg

whats up with the 1 week delay.

why is it that the hardcover came out on Feb 1st but the e-book comes out on Feb 7. I hope this wont be a recurring theme. The book itself is pretty good. Lots of action and fast paced.
