Bewitching!

Maggie is growing as a character.
I love the way Ms. Alt writes in a light cozy manner. No blood and gore here.
This book really held my attention from start to finish.
Very captivating and bewitching.
Great mystery that continued all the way to the conclusion! ...

Predictable but still a good read

Although I really enjoy this series, the plot lines are very predictable. I often can guess who the killer is halfway through the book. By this point in the series I would have expected far more character development of Maggie, but it is so slow paced for everything. This series is not truly outstanding but an enjoyable enough storyline.

    more from this reviewer

It's good, if none of your other favorite authors have anything new.

I've read the first three books in this series. They are entertaining, but have very slow build up and plot resolutions. Alt tends to over-explain, which is good if you just picked up one book out of the series and need to get caught up. For ex. It takes to book 3 to find out Marcus and Liss are not dating. Also, I'm over Maggie's angst regarding her "magic" or her gifts as an intuitive/sensitive. I can see that for one book, but it's tiresome after three installments. I hate to slight a writer, b/c they work so hard. But I'd recommend HP Mallory over Alt.
