    As Good as the First

This is the sequel to THE SECRET COUNTRY, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The plot thickened, and many of the interesting events mentioned in the first book finally occured, slightly different from what the children thought would happen. Still, there were a lot of mistakes in the book, though not quite as many as in the first one. I recommend this to anyone who has read the first one. This is a unique and fun series.

The Hidden Land - A Great Book

I read the novel The Hidden Land by Pamela Dean. It is a fantasy genre. The story is in an imaginary land during the summer time. The five main characters are cousins and they are the only ones allowed in the imaginary land. Ted (one of the five cousins) was the most inquisitive of the group and asked a lot of questions about the Hidden Land. For example,¿ Where is the king's mind now, regarding the dragon king.¿ They are all playing a role in the book. There is only one problem; someone is trying to poison the king. Only one will stop him. Read the book and find out if he is stopped. I liked the story line and idea of the book. The author made the reading of the book easy to understand and follow. She was able to make me feel like I was at the place. I haven¿t read to many fantasy novels, but I would say that this is a really good book. This book has fantasy and a little reality in it, which makes it stand out from other fantasy books. Each author writes their books differently than some of my other favorite authors, but I now have a new author to add to my favorites. This is the first book that I have read by Pamela Dean. I liked it and decided to buy the third book. I have read Harry Potter, The Westing Game, The Chocolate War, and more. This book is better than all those other books. I would suggest this book to kids who like castles, dragons, and most importantly fantasy. If you like mystery novels or action, I would not suggest reading this book. When I was reading this book I would not put it down, except in some parts of the book. I feel that this book is a well-written book for kids, like myself, and others to read. So go and buy the book today.
