    Disappointed

I was so disappointed in this book. I have been a fan of Jude Deveraux's books for many many years and, sadly, I expected a lot more out of this book. It was difficult to follow, very far fetched at times and sort of boring. Jude Deveraux's earlier books are just wonderful however, the later ones are very lacking. What happened?

    All Deveraux's books are great!

I have read every one of Jude Deveraux's books and have never been disappointed in any of them. A great writer with a sense of humor to her books. 'Keep up the good work Jude' Her book 'Knight in shining armor' brought me to reading all she wrote.

    I loved it!!

This was the first book i read of Jude Deveraux and i am eager to read another. I recently bought this book because i felt like taking a chance on a new author. I am very satisfied. The book kept me interested when i thought i wasn't really going to like it. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes suspense and an overall liking of a wonderful romance story.

    Loved It!!!!!

I bought this book thinking I was not going to like it, Jude Deveraux's books have not been so great in the past 3 years or so. But when I started reading this book I could not put it down, it was great! I loved hearing about the Taggerts and the Montgomery's again. This book is a must read.

Not what I was hoping for...

but, I am such a fan of Jude Deveraux's work, I read it through to the bitter end. After having read the story, I don't feel like I ever connected with the characters (which is one of the trademarks of a Jude Deveraux novel), nor do I completely understand the plot (it was a bit...disconnected). Sadly, I don't really care enough about Ace and Fiona to fill in the missing pieces. However, I am still a devoted Jude Deveraux fan and I can't wait to get my hands on her next book!

I enjoyed reading this book very much

I don't know why it was rated so poorly by other Deveraux readers, but I enjoyed it. If you liked Sweet Liar or other short stories involving the Taggarts I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy this story. It may have been a bit mellow for Deveraux but it was a good little story. I bought it after the low reviews (I buy all of her books no matter what) and was thinking it would be bad, but I was pleasently surprised. Thanks

    The best I have read

I picked up this book only because I wanted my children to start reading. It has been said not to judge a book by its cover but that is exactly what I done. You know I in the last 8 months I have read 18 of Jude's books and when I start reading them I can't put them down. My husband is amazed because in the ten years we have been married he never seen me pick up a book. Jude's stories make you laugh and cry. I would recommend these books to anyone you would like to see read more.

A '1' star rating is too generous, here

I only wish I had read other readers' reviews here before I purchased this book. Instead, I bought the book based on its bestseller standing on USA Today's list. How would I describe the disjointed fantasy fiction angle, here? Totally implausible, utterly unrecommendable.

    One of her worst...

Jude Devereaux became my favorite author while reading the 'Velvet' series, but this book leaves a lot to be desired. The plot is ridiculous and stupid. Jude also leaves a lot out when telling the story, which leaves you re-reading the last page to figure out what just happened. I'm 3/4 of the way through and wish that I wouldn't have wasted my time.

    Dumb and Dumber

This book was positively awful. Anyone who said they actually liked it and gave it over 2 stars is probably the author herself (or a close friend) who doesn't want her to be utterly disgraced. The 'plot' was banal, the characters barely developed. I loved her earlier work, but now I will have to think seriously about buying anything by her again.

    Don't waste your time

The story line was weak and very predictable. I kept waiting for something exciting to happen and it never did!!!

    It Was Sweet...

I like this book, but I think Deveraux's other work was better. I think the plot needs a bit of a work, because this isn't that realistic.

Think there are more 'Aces' in Florida?

Jude Deveraux's latest, 'High Tide', is a funny, sexy, heartwarming story. I found the chemistry between Ace and Fiona to be wonderful and I greatly enjoyed their banter. I think the setting and circumstances of the romance are unique and interesting. However, I found the mystery plot to be very confusing. What stops me from giving this book 5 stars is that most of the mystery makes little sense. Also missing are trademark Deveraux details and descriptions.

Bad, Bad, Bad - Don't waste your money.

This was probably the worst book I've read in a long time. The plot was SO insulting. While being hunted by the police, they manage to live it up in a high rise ordering room service! The dialoge was probably worse than the plot. Fiona, the heroine, was never without her makeup - even while being shot at. Don't waste your time or your money. Save a tree!
