Gives You Things to Think About

I think it's important to remember that doctors are still people, and this book can help patients (and practitioners) to understand it, to keep the consultation process in perspective. As a Nutrition graduate, I will be working from both sides, as a practitioner and with clients in working with their doctors. This book has reminded me that protocols and medical information should be kept accessible and understandable to the client, not to make it all a great mystery known only to the privileged few... While the author seems to me to be a bit trite and overreaching in some of his statements, it may just be a personality conflict on my part.

    Startling

For those of us who have begun to 'unplug from the matrix', this book is a reward for our courage. Doctors are not omniscient, and individuals need to become responsible for their health. It is sad to see a nation full of people who believe they can eat, drink or smoke their bodies into ill health, and then expect a Doctor give them a pill to 'fix' any problem.
I have a job in a profession where I am required to be current in my Red Cross CPR certification, and the chapter that deals with Dr. Newman's studies in regard to CPR blew my mind! I read that chapter five times.
The best part of this book is Dr. Newman's insight into the suffering on the part of the Doctors. I have not ever believed Doctors to be 'malicious' in their intention to cure everything; but, I had not realized that they have become just as frustrated and depressed as those of us trying to manage our health without pills and invasive, unnecessary tests. I have bought several copies of this book to give as gifts in the hope that more of us will 'unplug from the matrix' and take complete responsibility for our health.
