A Moving and Powerful Autobiography!
Ethel Waters personal memoir was extraordinary, by the fact that not only she survived but succeeded beyond anyone's imagination, including her own. Without bitterness or rage, she made it to the top. Her life was unforgiving, filled with unspeakable heartache and sorrow, childless and alone. And, yet, she climbed to the mountain top by her own hard work, belief in herself, ambition and determination, overcoming deep rooted fears and terrors. The book is an inspiration to anyone who feels hopeless and powerless.

Important and Historic Read
His Eye Is on the Sparrow is a touchin and informative book about one of the first Black female stars of her time. Ethel Waters came from a hard life of poverty in the allyways of Philidelphia's red light district. Through poverty, growing up without the guidance of a mother, passed between relatives, she rose to stardom. I loved this book and I have read it again and again. I recommend this book to may children and anyone who loves a good true story.
