This was a great follow up to Keep Me Still. This story focus's on Landen's issues and what he has to do get them under control so he can be the man that Layla and his unborn child need him to be. We get answers as to why his father was so abusive. Certainly no excuse for what he did just his reasons. Layla becomes the strong partner and does what she has to so Landen will get the help he needs.

Beautiful way to end such an amazing story!

When I finished Keep Me Still and had fallen so deeply in love with this couple I had to rush and buy Hold Us Close then spend three hours binge reading it. The continuing story of Landen and Layla was just as emotionally endearing and sweet as the first and had me on the edge of my seat hoping things would finally go right for this couple.

When Keep Me Still ends it's on a very positive note and one of the sweetest endings for a book I have read. When I bought this book I hadn't even read the synopsis, it didn't even matter I just had to find out what would happen between these characters I am on love with. Starting off three years after the end of Keep Me Still Layla and Landen have moved to Spain so he can follow his dream of playing pro soccer on a professional team. When they get a phone call from Layla's aunt Kate informing them she has set up a special surgery to remove the hematoma that threatens Layla's life she drops a bomb on them both that will affect her and Landen's relationship. A baby should be a joyous event in any couples life but this throws a serious wrench into Landen and Layla's lives. Because of Landen's abusive childhood at the hands of his father he isn't thrilled about the baby and that breaks Layla's heart. On top of this Landen is fighting an anger issue that scares Layla and brings up serious doubts about their relationship.

I was so nervous reading this book because I adored this couple and couldn't imagine them not being together. Landen broke my heart in this one. His anger issues cause him to do and say hateful things to Layla. He never hits her, he's not that kind of rageaholic but sometimes the emotional pain is worse. The battle within him went back and forth and at times he was sweet and loving then something would piss him off and he would lose his cool. My heart ached for him, constantly seeing him struggle after he finds out something that changes his entire perception of his life and childhood. There were a few times that his problems got him in trouble and at one point nearly gets him killed. I swear between his near miss and Layla having the grim reaper breathing down her back I was a little afraid one of them wouldn't make it out alive. Layla once again earned my respect and admiration by refusing to give up on Landen no matter how awful he was. She was strong and courageous and wouldn't let anyone talk her out of standing by him as he got help. She has come a long way from that shy scared girl she was in the beginning to become a woman with such strength and determination. Seeing her grow with each story was very rewarding for me because she's one of few female characters to earn my respect and admiration. I loved seeing her stand up for not only herself but what was best for her unborn child.

They say that you have to walk through fire for the ones you love and that's exactly what both of these characters do by the end of this story. I really loved how Quinn didn't just make everything OK with her magic wand. She had flawed characters that had real issues and as with real life nothing just goes away. While Landen got help and learned to handle his anger he still struggled with it as the years went by. The epilogue was beautiful yet very emotional. I highly recommend that if you read this after going through the journey with this couple that you have lots of tissues with you. It's very dramatic and intense. I have yet to read a book by Quinn that I haven't loved. She has a way of writing stories that pull you into the lives of her characters and making you fall in love with them and her. The only problem I had with this book was the intense book hangover I am still experiencing. The story was so amazing that I am having a hard time committing to anything else at the moment because I don't want to lose this feeling just yet. I can't Say enough times how much I loved these books and highly recommend them ASAP!

I'm still not quite sure how Caisey Quinn was able to write a couple that was impossible not to love. Although Landon hit some low
points in his life in this book that had me questioning Layla's sanity at staying with him through it all. He did end up proving he was
    worth it.
Be sure to have Kleenex at hand and be prepared for an emotional roller coaster, but rest assured this book is well worth the read.

    Loved it!

I have not read Keep Me Still, but now I must! This book is intense and not like my typical reading material, but I couldn't put it down.

Keep Me Still is a favorite read for me this year. I can't even explain how much I loved that book. Layla and Landen hold a special place in my heart and I think everyone should read their story.

In Hold Us Close, I experienced the same amount of emotional turmoil as I did in KMS. But, I appreciated seeing how these characters grew. Landen really needed to allow himself to heal his wounds from his past and we get to see him do that here. It was rough to read and there were times I wanted to strangle him, but I really wanted to see him pull through.

I was really happy with the end, even though I was nearly near heart attack mode. This novella reaffirmed my love for them and this series. I highly recommend this series.

Ps. I still want a book for Corin.

First thank you to Caisey Quinn for giving me an ARC of Hold Us

First thank you to Caisey Quinn for giving me an ARC of Hold Us Close and here is my honest review.

Oh. Lordy! This book was fan-freakin-tastic!

This is the continuation of Landen and Layla’s story, and WOW what a story it is. I absolutely fell head over heels in love with Landen in Keep Me Still while Layla completely amazed me. However, Landen and Layla together captured my heart entirely in KMS to the point where I didn’t think that I could love them even more but Hold Us Close made my heart fall even more in love with them.
Hold Us Close shows how perfect Landen and Layla really are for each other, that they truly are soulmates. In KMS we are put in a situation where Landen is Layla’s rock and becomes her strength for the troubles that she is faced with. In HUC gives us the other half of their relationship by showing that Layla can be the strength that Landen needs when his life is spiraling out of control. Their relationship becomes stronger through the difficult situations that they are faced with and are able to work through together. They are each other’s strength and support throughout HUC.
They do go through their share of troubles, tough situations, and surprises in HUC. Right from the very beginning they run in to a situation that puts their strength and faith in each to the test. I don’t want to give anything away but I will say this, Layla showed her strength in KMS but in HUC she became someone that I would want when the going gets tough. She becomes the strength for herself and for Landen when their world gets the unexpected surprises and twists. Both of these characters are very strong people that will hold you captivated throughout HUC.
I may have said this before but it must be said over and over, Caisey Quinn is a genius and most certainly knows how to write in order to pull at your heartstrings. HUC will surpass any expectations that any reader has and is written in such detail that the reader will be captured into the story seeing both Layla and Landen’s point of views. The writing flows easily and, to me, is a key component in being captured in the story. HUC isn’t rushed as some characters’ second stories sometimes are, Mrs. Quinn gives us a glimpse into their lives after HUC is finished and she also gives us a rundown of how they get to that point in their life.
Hold Us Close will have you feel every emotion because I was. I laughed, cried, got angry, sad, and even had me blush (let me just say cherries may be involved). Hold Us Close is a definite, must read but is also one that you will want to reread over and over again.
