    I Also Recommend:

    Tupac (Not) Revealed

This book was somewhat of a disappointment. I had high hopes for a book about a great subject written by a man who's oration skills are legendary. The book did not live up to those expectations. Although littered with facts about Tupac's life, it was disjointed and disorganized. And that intensity that so characterizes Dr. Dyson's speeches and debates was noticably absent from this book. That being said the book nevertheless is a worthwhile read so long as you don't expect anything too impressive.

    Great for everyone to read

¿Holler If You Hear Me,¿ by Michael Eric Dyson, is a very well-researched book. Tupac Shakur is known most know for his ¿thug-like¿ appearance. This book shows many different aspects of Tupac¿s life, in both good and bad ways, which readers don¿t hear too often. Tupacs mother, Afeni Shakur, was a Black Panther. This was a group that fought for the rights of blacks and Indians. Black Nationalism was always in his head as both a promise and a judgement. As he grew he did a lot like his mother, fighting for their rights, and just standing up for what he believes. As soon as he started to make money and fame is when his appearance came to ¿thug-life.¿ He realized that he could say pretty much anything he would like, and it would be all right. Tupac was raised way different than many people. That means that more than likely he also has many different morals as well. This is a great book for everyone to read. It will amaze those who already love Tupac. For those who don¿t know much about Tupac, or who seek to know more, this book will enlighten them. This is a great way to understand him and all he had done in his time.
