While it may be a bit outdated in terms of some newer construction materials available, this is a wonderful text for anyone contemplating a home remodel. Whether you're an architect, an architecture student, builder, homeowner, a designer or a do-it-yourself person, this is great, informative, timeless and useful stuff. Prof. Ching and his co-author cover construction basics found in most dwellings, basic ideas on how to effectively use the space you've got and how to expand it if you're inclined. Was this review helpful? This book is concise. The diagrams, as always, are great, the concepts are tried and true, and it's a pleasure to just thumb through without even having any particular project(s) in mind. I highly recommend all the Francis Ching books, including this terrific reference.
