From A Patsy Cline Fan's Point of View: THE BEST

This is a book that made me cry huge tears, at all the sadness and tragedy in Patsy Cline's life -- especially in how vividly this book recreates the ups and downs in her life, the auto crash and finally her death. And it made me roll with laughter, especially the stories of Patsy's sheer determination to make it big and the stories that Faron Young and Brenda Lee tell.

The acceptable, but flawed, biography of Patsy Cline.

While enjoying this book, after discovering Patsy Cline's brilliantly orchestrated and sung 1960-1963 Decca studio recordings, one's main complaints are a) that the author is guilty of occasionally adding his own dialogue, allegedly spoken between characters depicted in the book, and b) there is too much use of unatributable (hearsay) material. The only characters one found to be believable were those who had no axe to grind, or reputation to enhance. These being in the main her close friends; far too few, unfortunately, of which she had.

Because of the above-mentioned flaws in the book, no clear image of Patsy Cline emerges, and it's that image which one is desperately seeking. Biographies should be about TRUTH, nothing added and nothing taken away. One dearly wants to love Patsy Cline for things other than her beautiful singing.

    Derek Peake (United Kingdom).

The definitive story of Patsy Cline as told by Ellis Nassour

No man has done more to perpetuate the memory of Patsy Cline than author, Ellis Nassour. His latest endeavor is a treasure trove of updated facts on the legendary singer including a wealth of rare and never before seen photographs. This book is a must for any Patsy fan & those who may be discovering her music for the first time!
