I hate it when writers completely forget what they've written before.

Did they forget that Micki got pregnant in the last book? They completely left it out of this one and only mentioned that she and Damien had been on they're honeymoon.

This is an excellent book, however...

I believe I already read this book. Re-issue????? Low rating because I dislike pushing reissues as "new"!!!!

    Highly Enjoyable

I loved this book! This was the first book I read out of the trilogy and I had picked it up by chance. Boy am I glad I did! I could so relate to Sophie and Riley was simply hot :) The story was very well written and I got attached to the two main characters. After this book, I went out and got the first two. I love this trilogy and the Jordan sisters were wonderful to read about. I also love it that sports were involved, wonderful job Carly!

    Love this ¿Hot¿ Series

Hot Item 'Hot Zone, Book 3' Hot, Sexy, Romantic and Fun. This was a joy to read from start to finish. Sophie Jordan, the last unmarried Jordan sister and co-owner of The Hot Zone sports management agency, isn't looking for love. When the sparks explode between Sophie and quarterback Riley Nash, it's a toss up to say who's more stunned. Both Sophie and Riley carry baggage from their pasts and neither wants to risk their hearts. Now they must face the feelings that won't go away, along with a stalker who seems determined to bring The Hot Zone to its knees. More problems arise when Riley's daughter is less than happy with the appearance of a serious love interest in Riley's life and has no qualms about letting her displeasure be known. With all these forces working against them, can Riley and Sophie take a chance on love? Hot Item is the third and final book in the Jordan sister's trilogy. Without a doubt I wasn't disappointed! Sophie and Riley steam through the pages while Sophie's Uncle Yank appears to add his unique humor and blunder to the story. Readers can't go wrong with any of the Jordan sister's trilogy and readers who haven't read them yet have missed three wonderfully romantic and sexy stories.

    Awesome finish

I loved this trilogy. It was heartwarming and sweet. Hot Item was well written and has very likeable characters. The romance between Sophie and Riley was HOT. If you're in the mood for a light, romanctic read then this trilogy or anything else written by Carly Phillips is for you.

    Love at Last

I love reading about the Jordan sisters. This story about Sophie is just amazing. I couldn't put it down. Wish there was another book on the sisters. If you haven't read this one yet, I would recommend it.

Really worth the your time to read this one!

I really enjoyed this bood by Carly Phillips. It was a love story but it had the personal problems that real people have to work through to realize they are in love. Also had humor. All around very good! Ed Rob

    Couldn't put it down

I read each book as it came out, so it's hard to remember the specifics of the first two...so I can't tell you which is my favorite until I reread them. What I can tell you is that, whether this was the worst book in the trilogy or not, I couldn't put it down. I appreciate a romance that is a fun, easy read and Carly Phillips does it wonderfully. This book takes two unlikely people and puts them together in a touchy situation. There are some things I would have liked to have seen written differently, but telling will give away the story. So, read for yourself, enjoy, and rejoice in a happy ending.

    Disappointing

By far, the best book in this trilogy was Hot Stuff. Hot Item was boring and the writing had to be rushed as early on we are told that the character Annabelle's baby (from Hot Stuff) is a girl, then in the middle of the book we're told it's a boy, then its a girl at the end of the story! Whew! To say the least there was bad fact checking here.

A Hot Read and A Keeper

This is the final story in the Hot Zone trilogy......and a great read. Sophie Jordan is the middle sister, and co-owner of family business. She is a highly organized person, who tries to manage everything and everyone. When it comes to light that Spencer Atkins, Uncle Yanks friend and recent business partner, is gay he disappears and goes into hiding. Sophie's world is thrown out of control. Riley Nash is a superstar NFL quarterback, who is also looking for Spencer, because he is his biological father, and Riley wants to make sure that Spencer in no way jeopardizes his step-father's political career as a Senator with aspirations of going to the White House. Riley has always been one to do things his own way, even if it meant not following the rules. When Sophie finally tracks Spencer to Florida, she is astounded to find that Riley has every intention of going with her to find him. This presents double trouble with Sophie as she has always been attracted to Riley but never wanted to follow up on it. But working together closely like they have to in order to resolve the situation has the sparks flying between them and the heat turned up. As well there is the teenage daughter of Riley's from his marriage break-up who he does anything in the world for. Weaving all these together and making an interesting read Lori has again penned a terrific love story to say the least. This final book of the trilogy has everything a true romantic is looking for, adventure, heat, resistance and more. I recommend this book, and if you have not read the others in this series, Hot Stuff and Hot Number then you are missing out on some real winners. This trilogy is as hot as the name infers.

    more from this reviewer

This is one hot mini series

The middle child raised by her Uncle Yank, Sophie prefers to work the public relations behind the scenes at their sports management agency, The Hot Zone. However, she cannot stay quiet in a corner at the moment because partner and top sports agent Spencer Atkins has gone into hiding following the news that he is gay a no-no in the macho athletic world. Sophie cannot depend on her older sister Annabel as she just gave birth (see HOT STUFF), her younger sibling Micki who is on her honeymoon (see HOT NUMBER) or even Uncle Yank who eloped with his long time assistant Lola. She needs to locate Spence or they will lose the Heisman trophy winner John Cashman as a client probably to the Cambrias Agency.---------------- Meanwhile superstar NFL quarterback Riley Nash seeks Spencer for another reason. Spence is his biological father and he wants to insure that the sports agent does not open his mouth at a time when his adoptive dad runs for the US Senate from Mississippi. Riley realizes how ironic it is that he always wanted Spence to acknowledge him. When Riley learns that Sophie is going to Florida to find Spence, he decides to accompany her to insure nothing goes wrong. Already, attracted to one another Sophie and Riley fall in love, but first must locate a missing sports agent.---------------- HOT ITEM is a terrific closer to a fabulous sports romance trilogy. The story line stars two individuals attracted to one another, but she wants nothing to do with a jock and he prefers short term relationships though he loves to tease and taunt her. The tale is a stand alone, but newcomers will appreciate Carly Phillips¿ talent that much more by reading the siblings¿ tales first. This is one hot mini series that is a winner from start to finish.----------------- Harriet Klausner
