    Absolutely the best series ever!!

I read this series for the first time many years ago, and have re-read it so many times that my 3-in-1 hardcover is falling apart. The story draws you in immediately and doesn't let go. Alfred's struggle to accept who and what he is makes for terrific storytelling throughout the series. The historic details are fascinating and Tarr's writing really makes it come alive. Please publish in Nookbook format asap!!!

An enjoyable read regardless of your age.

I highly recommend this book for all fans of historical fantasy. It is well written and kept my interest so tightly bound I found it hard to put down. I found it just as enjoyable a read as one of the younger reviewers even though I got my Masters Degree back in the late 80's. They author doesn't talk down to the reader but still manages to convey a well written story. Most books in a series I've read have large segments of text, as much as an entire chapter, devoted to 'what went before'. This collection has very little of that, so the link between books in the collection is very smooth with minimal 'flash-back'.

    more from this reviewer

Two out of three...not bad odds

I liked Ms. Tarr's method of writing, entwining fact and fiction. The first and second books of this triolgy were really quite good although the third book, The Hounds of God, left me struggling to even finish it. I also would like to express my appreciation for publishing in one volume all 3 of the series.. No other way to get the whole story.

    Awesome!

this book is so awesome,it was given to me from a family member and (in hardback)i loved it. I realized you have to pay close attention to it. If you do you are reading one of the best books ever! I do hope to meet Judith Tarr someday so she can sign my book. Kaylee Wilder, Kennewick, Washington Kamiakin High School.

    Really Interesting!

I found this book captivating! It was interesting, funny, and everything else you can think of. If you're looking for a good book, this is one to buy, because it doesn't have a completely sappy ending, but it gives you this funny feeling. I just loved this book.
