Great addition to the history of Odd Thomas in a graphic novel format...
This ...
This takes Odd outside of his normal setting and removes him from his talents. There are no ghosts here. The only one that makes an appearance is Elvis and he is restricted from approaching the house Odd is in. There's a decent blend of humor and horror that fits with the rest of the Odd Thomas stories. Don't bother with it if you're blindly prejudiced against graphic novels though or under the misguided belief that graphic novels are automatically somehow less than prose.

Disappointing
I've been a huge Koontz fan from way back, but this graphic novel did nothing for me. Odd has been one of two of my favorite characters that hes done multiple books about. This is a pre-original Odd Thomas story, and had little of the Odd I've come to love. Maybe because I'm not a graphic novel reader, it added to my disappointment. It was extremely short for the cost, and I read the entire thing in under an hour. I miss the witty banter of Odd, and throwing Elvis in felt like a gimmick throw in rather than the important character he's been in other Odd books. Wished I'd waited for the nivel coming out down the road. Koontz has been exploring different spiritual journeys over his writing, but this one dropped the ball entirely.

I have not read this newest Odd Thomas offering, but that is not
I have not read this newest Odd Thomas offering, but that is not likely to happen as long as Mr. Koontz continues with the graphic novel format. Perhaps we could strike a happy medium and encourage the younger generation with the "graphic novel" (looks like a high class comic book to me.) and present the same story in a non-graphic novel for those of us who would rather use our own imagination to envision the characters and scenes so well portrayed and written by Dean Koontz. I LOVE the Odd Thomas character, but stubbornly despise the graphic novel format.

Beware!! It's a COMIC BOOK!
I was so excited to see another "ODD" book released that I didn't do my due diligence and read ALL the fine print. I NEVER would have paid for a silly comic book format. Like another reviewer stated, it's readable in under 1 hour and I wouldn't have knowingly ever paid money for that! SAVE your money and WAIT for his next real novel in this series coming out later this summer. D.Koontz...many of your readers are not happy about this. Please take note.

Shouldn't have been in a hurry
In my excitement at seeing another installment in the Odd series, I quickly hit the buy button and had my afternoon planned. When I opened this book I realized I'd just wasted money on a comic book. I understand there is a fan base for graphic novels, but I prefer to read the story and use my imagination. The comic format, to me, is confusing and I'm very disappointed in myself for so hastily hitting that buy button.

Great addition to the history of Odd Thomas in a graphic novel format...
First off: This is a comic book. Many people seem to be unable to search out this clear fact before ordering and carry some weird bias against the medium. The story is on the short side when compared to a standard novel, but as a graphic novel it's a long read.
This takes Odd outside of his normal setting and removes him from his talents. There are no ghosts here. The only one that makes an appearance is Elvis and he is restricted from approaching the house Odd is in. There's a decent blend of humor and horror that fits with the rest of the Odd Thomas stories. One star for his effort.....and because it won't accept no stars ...a sure sign a book is a dud is when they give a one page sample...
Comic books have always appealed .more to young readers..as in the 7 to 16 age group.....with exceptions of course to die hard fans and collectors....
But to ask the average reader of the Odd series to now become adjusted to a comic book arrangement just strikes me as "odd" but not in the thomas variety odd....
It also makes me wonder if in fact koontz is even writing this series anymore...or if he has any of the sci fi juices to get him from one book to another....
I have always said that when one ages....everything basically becomes dulled...maybe we should remember the series for the entertainment value it gave us and may odd finally rest in peace...
Koontz is so out of touch with his fan readership...he doesn't even have a website for reader comments...tells me he a. Doesn't give a hoot...or b. Cannot take constructive criticism....either way....he don't want to know what his readers think...
Somebody...it could have been me once said...."if you want to be good at something...you gotta stay hungry" apparently koontz has a well stocked pantry....

If I could give this a negative star rating, I would. My fault
If I could give this a negative star rating, I would. My fault for clicking "buy" without reading the comments. I had NO IDEA this was a comic. I just wasted $10+ and I am not even going to read it, it is horrible. I saw Odd Thomas and thought it was Koontz' new book. In the future, I will definitely read the comments! B&N should have made it more clear though that this was not a book. Wish I could get my $$ back!!

Waste of My Time
This is truly the worse "book" I have ever purchased. It was a poorly conceived Sunday newspaper cartoon. I look forward to the Odd series and was terribly let down.

Stop saying you are a fan if you dont know which books are which!
Anyone who is a real odd thomas fan knows that this is not the next installment in the book series. Real odd fans know that odd apocalypse comes out in july. Stop the bashing and do your research.

Amazed!!!
I am shocked and amazed at how many Odd Thomas (so called) fans were not aware this is a graphic novel! A true fan would know and realize this is his third GN on the character and that it doesn't follow the novels. I look forward to reading it and adding it to my collection (both on my Nook and in print). Koontz has created a very lovable, eclectic character and know I will enjoy the story, regardless of its format! Please keep 'em coming!!!

First off - it does indicate that it is a graphic novel. And for those of you who have read the books (not graphic novels) should have realized something was wrong when Stormy was mentioned in the description since she died early on in the series. As a graphic novel (comic book) it was a good read. The art work is fantastic and so is the story line -- in true Dean Koontz and vintage ghost stories. The book was well written and thought out, the plot and characters were defined well and it wasn't as predictable as I thought it was going to be. Good book!

Not worth my time!
I was disappointed! I guess I'm just too old for this kind of thing, I was expecting something totally different. I really enjoyed the Odd books, but this was nothing like them at all.

ONLY REVIEW YOU NEED IS RIGHT HERE!!
IF you like comic books then get it...(not really sure it's even a very good comic tho) IF you are expecting another great book in the ODD series then this is NOT it! I was a fool and bought it before reading and understanding what a graphic novel meant exactly. Read it in under an hour, didn't even like the drawings. Now forever in the future when I read about my sweet Odd and his adventures with Stormy, I will see them as these two cartoon characters as opposed to the real people I had imagined them to be.
