A Great Read, didn't know there was this much more to the story!
Thought I knew what there was to know about this family and industry, but I was very, very wrong! Wonderfully written, with compassion and insite, but with an amazing amount of new information. Definitely worth the read.

The House that Gianni built and Dontella almost tore down
Just from knowing Gianni, I beleived that if this story had any truths it would paint a beautiful picture- full of colorful characters,rock-n-roll, Italy, fashion and sorrows. Deborah Ball does an excellent job of capturing the drama and pathos while not straying from the facts. This book sheds light on how The Versace empire was built from the ground up,with the traditions of past decades to the current day money machine. It talks about Dontallea's struggle with Gianni's death, her drug abuse, almost wrecking The Versace Label and her acceptance and growth in The Versace Company. I have read and written extensively on the subject and this book is a well balanced account, the only down fall is that lacks photographs.
