Highly Recommended
Marcus Pelegrimas is a writer I discovered several years back. He doesn't disappoint; He leaves you wanting more. For fans of Urban Fantasy Fiction who don't want the same ole, same ole, then this is an author who will genuinely suprise you and keep you engaged. He weaves the story like a master spinner and draws the reader in further and further. With each new book in the series, his ideas grow and so does the character development. This man is definitely an author you do not want to miss reading.

Left me HOWLING for more!
I was eager to see if Marcus Pelegrimas could do it again. By that I mean if he could deliver another powerful, action-packed, and contagious drama in Book 2 of his Skinners series. Howling Legion, a follow-up to Book 1: Blood Blade, does not disappoint! In fact, I believe this book is even better. The reader doesn't merely get more of the first one but instead gets new characters, new creatures, and new horrors.

Kansas City will never be the same after an overly ambitious Full Blood (werewolf) makes an organized attempt at depleting the human population. The carcass of med student Lisa Wilson, one of the Full Blood's victims-turned-Half Breed, becomes the focus of an interested cop's investigation, and Skinners Paige and Cole assist him. While in KC, the Skinners uncover the magnitude of the Full Blood's actions. The confrontations, strategies, and attacks that follow are intense (to say the least) and life-changing for the humans and beasts alike.
It's important to note that Pelegrimas isn't only about the graphic battle scenes between people and monsters. While those battles are definitely in Howling Legion, in full force, he also writes a storyline with great detail and characters with a growing depth. The world he has created is complex, and I find it fascinating to read what he comes up with next.
This series is well worth your time. Enjoy, and spread the word! -

Even better than the first!
Marcus Pelegrimas delivers another hit with the second book in the Skinners series. The dorky love scenes continue and get ever more intense, as do the action scenes! Love the "special ink" that is used, what a unique idea for tying tattoos into the book. The big battle at the end is an absolutely thrilling read, hard to not like this series.

Sequel...
Sequels can either make or break a series...and "Howling Legion" definately takes this series up to a new level. The characters and plot are terrific along with the fast-paced action! Marcus Pelegrimas has done it again...he's rocked the Sci-Fi world to its core! The action, characters, and writing style are just as phenomenal, if not better, than the first one. Nail biting suspense throughout, enough to satisfy any thrill-seekers! Two thumbs way up for this one, cannot wait for "Teeth of Beasts". If it resembles the first two novels in any fashion than I'm not worried at all!

Bloody Good
If you enjoy violent, action-packed confrontations with werewolves and vampires, you simply can't beat this series. This second book delivers a riveting, lightning paced, multi-threaded story. The action ranges from small dust-ups with vampires in Chicago to full-scale battles in Kansas City. There's also a fight for survival in suburbia, monster hunts in parks and cemeteries and an explosive free-for-all around a bonfire. It all culminates in a desperate struggle against an unstoppable "Full Blood" which concludes with a surprising twist. The protagonist, video game designer Cole, is a complex and sympathetic warrior-in-training. Further, two 'Full Blood' master werewolves reveal fascinating personalities and divergent plans. The story intelligently utilizes humor and introduces interesting new characters, (including a geeky vampire inventor and various weird mongrels). Like "Blood Blade," the book's tone is edgy with many modern references (which compliments the no-holds barred action and gore). The plot is also enriched by a burgeoning attraction between Cole and his Skinner partner Paige. Do I recommend this book? Absolutely! (Note: "Blood Blade" introduces the unique mythology, imaginative monsters and cult-like magic utilized within the series.)

Exciting and thrilling
Cole was a video games designer at the top of his profession when he realized that creatures of myth and legend are real. There is a secret society that has fought the evil denizen of the dark especially vampires, who go by the nomenclature of Shifters. They fight Nymars (vampires) as well as were shapeshifters who prey on humans and don't stay in their own territory. Cole joins the group and his mentor Paige places him under an intense training regimen physically and using magical weapons to restrain these creatures. He has become a Skinner enforcing the rules (see Full Blood).

A Full Blood werewolf who can change at will creates many half-breeds, who can only exist in wolf form, to take over Kansas City, Missouri. The Full Blood Liam knows that the Nymarr are unorganized so they cause him no concern and another Full Blood is harassing the Skinners. When he liberates his offspring to attack the city Paige and Cole lure them into a deserted area where they kill most of them. That fails to solve the problem because the Full Blood can make more hybrids; they know they must destroy Liam before he can create more Half Breeds, but he alos knows of the two Skinners are in his city so he plans to show them how a Full Blood deals with adversaries.
Part horror and part urban fantasy, Skinner: Howling Legion contains a fantastic world filled with a werewolf species that seems genuine as Marcus Pelegrimas provides his original take on the shapeshifting mythos living up to the motto of the "Show Me" state. Cole and Paige are resolute dedicated warriors who gave up their comfortable middle class lifestyles to risk their lives fighting malevolence. Exciting and thrilling from start to finish, the audience will enjoy a walk on the wild side of Kansas City. Karen Koehler fans will love this book.

Awesome follow up to Blood Blade!
This book picks up right where Blood Blade left off. Action packed with a twist of mystery and occult.

Paige and Cole find them selves standing between the human race and a Full-Blood intent on taking over a city. With a little help from some new allies things get nasty in a hurry. I'm not telling anything else, this is too good a read to give away what happens in a review. -
