A PERFECT GIFT for ANYONE interested in what's out there
This book offers breathtaking imagery of the stars, planets, solar systems, galaxies, and everything else that exists in the universe, all taken by the Hubble space telescope. As beautiful as the cover is, it only hints at the amazing and mesmerizing images that you'll see inside.
It is an ideal holiday gift that will be treasured today, tomorrow, and for years to come. I have seen young children awed by the beautiful and colorful imagery, older children enjoying learning about the amazing processes pictured and the dramatic story behind the telescopes launch into orbit and later missions to fix it (a veritable soap opera in space), and myself finding that the level of information is deep and sophisticated enough to keep me fascinated. This is truly one of those gifts that will keep on giving year after year, and from one generation to the next.
I highly recommend it!2 out of 2 people found this review helpful.

What Galileo would have given to read this book
Gorgeous pictures that situate your place in the universe.
Carl Sagan said that the stories of space probes would have to include the men and women who designed and operated them. Hubble traces the history of its development, how its vision was corrected, and how graphic artists produce the stunning photographs.
Great coffee table gift book that will stimulate the imagination of any reader.1 out of 1 people found this review helpful.

Remarkable photography
This book was worth every penny. Informative, awe-inspiring, it showed information and photography that takes your breath away. The Hubble has given us so many great photos that I can't wait to see what the JWST Telescope will provide us when it launches in 2013! Maybe we'll finally find out that we may not be alone out here in all of these Universes.
