I was looking for a new paranormal romance series and this one kept popping up, but I would take one look at the cover art and invariably say "NO Way." Finally, I got a little desperate and broke down and bought the thing. I have never been more shocked in my life...I literally could not put it down after the first five pages. I was utterly captivated from the first scene. I have since become an Immortals after Dark Series FANATIC. I am impatiently waiting for the next ones due out in November and January. Completely cliché to say "don't judge a book by its cover", but in this case the old adage has proven correct. I hope you come to love Nix as much as I do...I need to reread and get all of the hilarious T-shirt quotes.

Dissapointed

The book may be great but I finished it because I bought it. I don't like Vampires et al. is not my personal preference. I have read some books about immortals and liked them. I loved her Sutherland books and her other trilogy

    more from this reviewer

Not a bad book, however, I found myself getting more aggravated

Not a bad book, however, I found myself getting more aggravated the whole I want you but I won't admit it routine. Also found that even at the end of the book, I despise most of the characters (the Valkyrie). Too bad you have to wait until basically the last 10-15 pages of the book to have a happy ending.

    Pretty Good

The book definitely held my interest, and it was a quick read. Not the greatest in paranormal romance, but I am buying the 2nd one to see how that one is.

Not so good, not so bad

The tittle did not fit the contents of the book. It was okay for me. A lot of people (night people) was involved, and I was having a hard time understanding each one of them. Story wasn't so great.

    This book was entertaining.

The beginning of A Hunger Like No Other was wonderful! The story however, began to drag somewhat early, then half way through the book it really takes off! The sex and romance between the two main characters, Emmaline and Lachlain began to drag and I began to think the whole book was going to take place with them just trying to get to Scotland. Once they arrived (about half way through the book) the story really picked up. Wonderful characters were brought in. I loved Emmaline's family and Lachlain's too! This was not a bad read, but it could have used a little more depth with other characters. I get very tired of romance novels where the male chases the female and it takes forever for them to unite. That was the case between Lachlain & Emmaline, but once they did the book got a whole lot better.
