I liked it quite a bit

Ok so I don't get it is he a liberal who pokes fun at conservatives or is he a conservative who knows how to laugh at himself? I'm not sure what he is but the book is hilarious. The entire book is pure genious. I laughed and cried and oddly enough lost fifteen pounds be...
Ok so I don't get it is he a liberal who pokes fun at conservatives or is he a conservative who knows how to laugh at himself? I'm not sure what he is but the book is hilarious. The entire book is pure genious. I laughed and cried and oddly enough lost fifteen pounds because i didnt eat or drink anything until I finished the book. A must read for anyone who enjoys political humour.

It's OK but the shtick runs too long

It's a funny book...for a while, but the shtick runs on too long. I actually got bored after a while. I'll watch him on TV but this is it for my reading pleasure.

    Funny but eh.

I like Stephen Colbert's tv show so I figured I might give his book a chance. I gave it three stars cause it was funny but I found myself going when is this chapter going to end? It is literally a collection of his scarcastic thoughts and opinions. While some are hilarious others were like really? They let you print that? It deals with sex, children, race and religion. Would I recommend it? Maybe. Will I read another one of his books? Probably not.

    Funny, but Repetitive

Stephen Colbert's I am America (And So Can You!) is a political satire about many different aspects of America. It deals with both the good and the bad of America from Stephen's eyes. Stephen Colbert, as you may know, is a conservative who likes to crack jokes about his affiliation. The book is about how Stephen plans to fix America with his tough-love politics. It was really funny in the beginning and it was hard to put down. Stephen uses his trademark humor to explain his ideas, and he does a good job of it. The book was entertaining for a while, but it got a bit repetitive at about the half-way mark. It's almost like Stephen was forcing jokes in where they didn't belong. It became really boring and hard to finish, and if I wasn't doing a report on the book I probably wouldn't have finished it. I would recommend this book to die-hard fans of "The Colbert Report", anyone else will eventually become bored with this book. It's good for a few laughs at the start, but the tedium sets in quickly.

It was ok.. could have bought a better book

I like the Colbert Report, and I could tell that he was trying to express his 'the word' segment on his footnotes. It translated well at times. I found myself laughing at the drawings more than anything.
