Golden Moments with a Precious Little One
I read this for the first time to a two-year-old who was in a somewhat fearful state. She was visiting her great-great-grandmother in the hospital, and there were a number of people there that she didn't know. I pulled out the book and she and her mommy and I sat down and began to look through it. As each page turned, she became calmer and more interested in the story and pictures. Because of her slightly agitated state to begin with, and her young age, I skipped a few tiny bits of the text so as to turn the pages quickly enough to keep her engaged. Was this review helpful? The pictures are darling, with enough detail to involve a child in further comment and seeking out specifics. I'm sure this book will be read and re-read, appealing on different levels, whether the child is sleepy, needing distraction, or entertaining herself. The story is a sweet one, and as it deals with love between a mother and her little ones, even very young children can relate to it.
