I'm okay and so are my kids
This book's jacket intrigued me, so I bought it. I have since chucked it into the back seat of my car in disgust. It's aimed at people who really don't like their kids (despite what the author says about loving her kids but hating parenting). In the book, the author refers to those of us with the 'LBP' gene (loving being parents) as if we're from another planet. So be it. But her method of trashing all the research that she doesn't agree with, her disregard of any science (such as that showing that breast-feeding really IS healthier for babies and does promote maternal weight loss) shows that she isn't really interested in providing genuine help to parents who are struggling with their kids. There are many books out there that provide real help to parents who have truly difficult kids, from writers who, rather than being 'guilt-gurus' have actually studied what research tells us about raising kids in a toxic world (particularly good ones are the Love and Logic series). Buy one of those instead.
