Another Excellent Story by P. D. James
Rarely does an author of so many novels miss and this another hit. Maybe the best book written by James.
An adopted child yearns to learn about her biological parents. She remember some of her previous life in a mansion and a beautiful library. As an18 year old woman she is permitted to seek her birth parents. Previous information makes her think her mother is dead and her father harfather had been accused of rape and murder of young child.
Between a father possessed by years of anguish wanting to get what he thinks is justice and Amanda who thinks of himself as her boyfriend she is unsure of what her actions should be.
James does a great job in developing her character and her plots as always. You can't miss with this book or any other by James.
