Vividly-Dark, Horrific and Simply Splendid!
Evil has been stalking FBI Agent, Vincent Valtrez for most of his life. His mother, an Angel of Light and his father, a Dark Lord of the Underworld; darkness calls to him and he has no idea why. Vincent has been running from his childhood home in Eerie, Tennessee, ever since a traumatic event ripped his family apart. Unfortunately for all the running he's done, he's assigned to assist in the capture of a serial killer, who has gone on a killing spree in Eerie. Clarissa King, his childhood friend he left behind, has the ability to commune with the dead. Sadly this gift turns into a living nightmare when a serial killer viciously murders several girls in town, leaving their spirits in the state of torment and unrest. Together Vincent and Clarissa reluctantly combined their strengths to stop a demonic soul collector from filling his quota and initiating the apocalypse. This dark paranormal romance w/ a twist of horror thrown in, was twisted and darkly-graphic. I really enjoyed it and only recommend it to those dark urban fantasy readers who have the patience to sift through the vast emotional sections to pluck-out the storyline. I also look forward to the next book in this trilogy Dark Hunger.

Born part demon, Vincent Valtrez was abused by his father Zion, a Dark Lord. As a child at the age of 10 he witnessed his father burn his mother alive in the Black Forest, that was also the night he killed his father, and awoke with no memory of what happened that night. Now 20 years later, his father is set to rise and take over as the new Lord of Hell, and he wants his son by his side. Vincent has grown up to be an FBI agent, to track down the killers in the world, he also holds an insatiable desire for sex¿ it is part of his curse. He knows that he can never love, let alone sleep with the same woman twice. The evil inside of him is brooding and getting stronger, how much longer can he fight it?
Clarissa King communes with the dead as her mother and grandmother before her had. In Eerie, Tennessee a string of murders has begun to happen and the spirits of the girls visit Clarissa in hopes of being able to cross over to the other side. The demon that has inhabited the body of a person well trusted, is using the girls¿ phobias against them, deciding how each will be murdered. Pan, the God of fear is trying to get on Vincent¿s fathers good side by soul collecting, and if he can get Vincent to give up his soul for Clarissa, that is sure to score some major points with the soon to be new ruler of Hell. Pan tortures Clarissa with the pleas and cries of the dead, can she fight through this or will she end up hanged as her mother did?
Vincent and Clarissa go way back, both outcasts as children. Each tried to protect the other, and even 20 years later that electricity between them sparks each time they touch. Vincent has no heart to give, and Clarissa has more than enough for the both of them¿ can he keep turning her away and fighting the lust that is burning him inside? Can this Demonborn know what love truly is, or will the darkness take over?
Insatiable Desire by Rita Heron is magical, electric, and enthralling, I was hooked from the Prologue. paranormal romance and mystery are perfectly woven together by Ms. Heron in a way that can either give you spine tingling chills or warm your heart with her tenderness. Hopefully this is the beginning of a series, a series that I will have a set of for sure! 5 Hearts

A great paranormal read.
Twenty years ago Vincent Valtrez left his home after surviving a night in the Black Forest where he witnessed his father murder his mother and learned that he was Demonborn. Now an FBI Special Agent, Vincent has suppressed the evil pulling at him and instead has sworn to save lives, not take them. When his next case sends him home to Erie, Tennessee to help the sheriff track down a serial killer he reunites with Clarissa King, a psychic who can communicate with the victims. Together Vincent and Clarissa work side-by-side to stop the killer but they slowly learn the truth. They killer they are battling is no ordinary murderer. He¿s a demon who will stop at nothing to see that Clarissa is out of the way and convince Vincent to let his ¿bad blood¿ take over. Will the darkness inside Vincent claim him¿ or will he save Clarissa ¿ and himself ¿ from the evil that threatens them both? Insatiable Desire is a great book. The paranormal aspects aren¿t too heavy as it can be in some of the darker paranormals I¿ve read. There is just enough darkness to make it a page turner with a believable storyline. The characters are well developed and convincing so that I kept reading well past my bedtime. Then I was kept awake with the hot and heavy sex scenes! This is a must read for all paranormal romance lovers.

This is an exciting dark horror thriller
In Eerie, Tennessee psychic Clarissa King is desperate to end the screams she hears and the bloody graphic visions she sees every time the brutal killer murders a woman two dead and counting. The police assume a serial killer has begun a reign of terror. The police use Clarissa to assist them. She knows the killer is a demon Zion of hell.---------------- Since the besieged town is his birthplace, FBI agent Vincent Valtrez is sent to investigate the serial killings. He knows Clarissa from childhood and scorns her so called psychic gift. However, two decades ago Vincent understood beasts as his father was one while his mother was an angel of the light all changed when dad killed mom. Dad needs his offspring by his side while Clarissa knows exactly what Vincent and his father are she prays her love for him keeps him from turning to the dark side of his dad.----------------- This is an exciting dark horror thriller filled with characters who personify good and evil. The story line is graphic as readers through Clarissa see and hear the dying thoughts and actions of the victims. Inappropriate title aside, as the romance rightfully so takes a back seat to the killing malevolence as Rita Herron provides an exhilarating horror tale with a sequel coming.--------- Harriet Klausner
