Up Close and Personal!
Just the intro hooked me right away when she said you start a new world once you no longer accept being the "Designated Cancer Patient". That's what I've been to everyone, that's how they see me, but I'm changing all that with this book. I feel I have found a real survival guide covering topics no one's ever discussed with me, on hair and skin, lymphedema, libido, dryness and lots more. Her section on "Reclaiming Your Sexuality" is invaluable because nowhere else does anyone talk so frankly about the uniquely personal and very intimate problems of breast cancer. This is the first breast cancer book I am re-reading for the third time, taking notes while I go, and I've already filled a notebook! And now I finally know what to ask, but even more how to talk about all these issues with my professionals, as a woman not just a "designated cancer patient". Priceless! Every breast cancer survivor should own this book.
