This sequel to Desert Sons is also a must read as follow-up. It has great true-to-life romance and character development. Multiple twists and turns, ups and downs, all within the realm of (TRW), the real world. Teens and adults in love and lust come to life. And the thoughts going thru the characters mind(s) are an added insight into personal growth and development overall. Another great book written by Mark Kenrick.

Great sequel with a happy ending!

I'm surprised that I'm the first one to review this novel but anyways. In this story, summer has ended and Scott has yet to tell his father about his relationship with Scott. He's starting his senior year in high school. Throughout the story Ryan is getting more and more depress that he's starting to turn away the things he usually enjoys with Scott and his past starts to hurt him even more. In school, Scott faces challenges as well. A cowboy bully who discriminates him because he finds out about Scott relationship and then a boy named Preston who has the hots for him. When Scott and Ryan's relationship was about to faltered, Scott couldn't help being sexual and unfortunately fell under Preston's flirting. Yes, Scott did really cheated on Ryan in this story. Meanwhile, Ryan starts to make trips to his psychiatrist and explains how the people he seems to love dies including his grandmother. After the frequent trips to his psychiatrist, Ryan's mood seem to change into a positive one and was now sure of himself that he loves Scott and wanted to tell him. Ryan left a message on Scott's answering machine telling him how much he loves him. This really upsets Scott because he felt like such a loser for cheating on Ryan. He knew from that point on he had to tell Ryan. After that mess had clear up and their relationship became even stronger, the cowboy bully had attacked Scott and Preston's ex. If Scott's friend hadn't came back that night, Scott would surely be dead. I really like how at the end that Ryan and Scott feels more comfortable hugging and kissing in front of people. That Scott's friends and family supported him and his relationship with Ryan. This was truly a happy ending!
