    Robin Mckelle

I been waiting my whole life for a female jazz vocalist that gets it! Robin has taken the jazz standards to a new standard. HER STANDARD!Every song is a classic, and she does wonders throughout. "Night & Day", stands out above the rest, and if Cole were alive today, I think he'd be pleased. Do yourself a favor, and Pick up this cd!

    Nice work

Robin's voice is, no doubt, top knotch. Same goes for the outstanding band which nails the arrangements every time! However, it seems Robin is less in touch with the lyrics - "Bei Mir Bist du Schon" feels overdone and many of the other songs lack the relaxed and effortless approach that the the great singers of the past have mastered. There is something to be said for the "subtle" approach. Vocal acrobatics aren't necessary and Robin's voice is just wonderful when she isn't pushing - I recommend putting this on shuffle with other big band selections by the late greats - it fits in nicely - and hearing these tracks mixed in rather than one on top of the other won't overwhelm the listener.

    I Love this Lady

I really like how the 50's theme is comming back into play here in the music industry. McKelle is a great perfomer and i enjoy the intensity of her love for music. It's traditional, yet brings a modern "flair" to this type of music that anyone can enjoy- and something you can listen to around your parents!!

    New artist Robin McKelle

I didn't know who Robin was until I noticed the Barnes & Noble ad. I looked at the track list and liked all of the songs on this CD. After I heard the first song, I knew I would love this CD. I definitely recommend it. I particulary loved Cry Me A River.

    trying too hard

I feel this singer is trying too hard to make something special out of standards we've heard done a million times over. Some of her performances "emote" and are overly affected. Not much heart in this one for me.
