My first love!! This was the series that started my fascination

    My first love!!
This was the series that started my fascination with manga.
Originally I watched the anime and once I reached the point where it ended (before they animated The Final Act) I wanted more. So I started from the beginning in the manga.
I knew it was love when I came to the page where Kagome finds Inuyasha pinned to the Goshinboku tree, covered and in vines and leaves, almost fairytale like. Some 500 plus chapters later the series ends and I was deeply saddened, even though it was ridiculously long.
I'm attracted to the whole premise of the story, searching for shards, personal growth, time travel, traversing through a feudal pre-modern Japan with mythical creatures.
There's some reasoning to why the antagonists are the way they are, with Naraku being driven to obtain the Shikon no Tama because of love. Well more like unrequited love. And for some reason I'm drawn to travels by foot, and resting at night by the light of the moon and the warmth of a fire. It's sort of romantic and at a subconscious level I guess part of me despises living in fast paced modern world like Kagome is from. Which would explain why I secretly enjoy it when the power goes out, but only for a few hours. Not for weeks on end or when you are in the shower with shampoo foaming in your hair. Oh and the fables! This series had me checking out a few books from the library on Japanese folklores and myths. Had me dreaming of dog demons, kitsunes and deities living in shrines hidden amongst green misty mountains. I think Takahashi very nicely incorporated that theme into her manga. She, however, could have left out some unneeded slapstick, lecherousness from Miroku, and characters that didn't bring much to the plot then were never seen past a few chapters.
Never the less it was a wonderful journey. And if I ever stumble across an old dried up well...I just might jump.

Inu-Yasha Rocks! Though Viz... Not so much...

Ok, everyone knows that Inu-Yasha is one of the best mangas around, right? Yes, we can all agree on that. To sum up that little note: Inu-Yasha is the best damn hanyou around!!!<BR/>Now, on another note, it IS disappionting of what Viz has done to Inu-Yasha... From the translations to the english dubs on TV. I am an Inu-Yasha fanatic, though, sadly I can't read kanji, so I can't exactly read the original version, which I much rather prefer... As another user said, the english volumes are terribly lacking in information. Yes, one or two volumes taken out WOULD have been acceptable... Though four or MORE is just very confusing sometimes... Maybe someday there'll be a better translation, though for now, we must settle with this.

InuYasha: A sure favorite of readers!

This series is one of my favorites. It has great artwork and a killer storyline! It has many thing other mangas tend to leave out and is a very absorbing one to read. If you read one, you'll get hooked. I flipped through one, and now I own volumes 1-11 and I'm still adding on to my collection! ^_^

    Wonderful show...but not the greatest

This is definently a wonder. Somehow every genre got smashed into 1 series. It's different, exciting and really makes you think. Now, on to the bad points. The characterization leaves something to be desired. You don't really understand their past and it's rare that they put much focus on it. I find myself thinking about it all the time not because I like it so much, but because I have so many questions that are never answered. However, it definently is worth the money.

    Different!

In all my years...which there have only been 14 (lol) i've never seen a manga quite like this, it was amazing i love the plot and the story line is superb! The anime is good too but the manga beats it! The only thing i dont like is the demon centipede lady, she needs a shirt.....that why i only gave it 4 stars....but all in all this manga had great taste the others are good to!

    Over looking

I loved this book, Inuyasha, Kagome and everything else Rumiko Takahashi writes. I love Kagome and Inuyasha's relationship and that somewhat magical force that just wont get them to kiss. I did over look the nudity parts though not because im young but because it's a little too early in the season for that, besides I think it's cute that they have little crushes on eachother, and yet they wont admitt it. But in other words I LOVED it!! ^__^
