Really Good-Read this if you're a 10-14 year old boy!

Epic book. Just epic. A bit sad with the deaths, and the hurts, but there's romance, and there's goodness, and it's a genuinely good book! Really enjoyed it!

It's more for the 10-14 boy set, with action, and a boy narrator, but it can still be read by pretty much anybody because it has action, mystery, paranormal/supernatural, and aliens, and if you liked any Stargate movie or show, or Doctor Who, then you'll enjoy this book! It was really good!

Loved the romance, and how it was maybe developing there, which is appropriate given the ages of the characters, and yeah, it was really cute!

There was a lot of heroics, and heroes, and the mentions of WW11 was really nice, and in a way, helped to get used to the horror of the war. The one character survived it, and his missions were made pretty much public knowledge. So I really enjoyed that!

This was a really good book, if a bit boyish for me. Oh, well. I can deal, and I can't wait to read Alienation!

Invasion- a tween,sci-fi loving book

I mean it would be okay for those who are tweens and young teens and are into comic books and science fiction, but I don¿t believe anyone who is not of this age or into these types of books would care for it much.
The book deals with a boy who loses his family and he gets caught up in a comic book world of heroes and villains. Almost to much fake fiction for me. It¿s really not even imaginary believable in the fiction world.
After the first chapter I pretty much lost interest as it was obvious that it was for the younger crowd and filled with way to much comedic alien goobldy goop. (Nice words huh?)
If you have a pre-teen or teenager who is into sci-fi this is probably right up their alley and they would also enjoy some of the pictures in the book, but it clearly is not an adult book by all means.

    more from this reviewer

    I didn't enjoy it!

I have many problems with this book. First, there were a few mistakes that were not picked up during editing process. A few errors of who said what and who did what. Next, I felt the storyline is a cross between Stargate (Stargate TV series) and Harry Porter. The invisible gateways what linked earth to other planets in the universe is so like the wormhole in Stargate that does the same. You just have to work through it and you are on another planet. The similarities to Harry Porter...there's 2 boys and 1 girl in Invasion. Harry Porter also has 2 boys and 1 girl as the main characters. Colt is the chosen one by CHAOS to fight against the invasion which is the same as Harry being the chosen one to go against Voldemort. Then The CHAOS Military Academy can be the science fiction version of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and the book even introduce a hologram map which shows where everyone is in a location which sounds so much like the maraudes map that Harry has.
Even the above synopsis wasn't really accurate...Colt met a girl during the summer? Nothing much was mentioned of the summer actually. I also felt that the character wasn't well developed. It's like the author can't wait to get into the storyline and doesn't really feel the need to expand the characters involved. Me think that would have brought more depth to the book if he has done so. :) Would I buy this book for myself? No. Would I buy it for a young adult? I don't think so too.

    Eh.

I had a REALLY hard time getting into this book. I couldn't get past the 14th chapter. I was looking forward to reading this book as it is different then what I normally read. The story unfolds too slowly for me and had characters that were hard to relate to because they were so far from reality. I usually enjoy young adult books, but this book didn't capture me like I was expecting. Maybe later down the road I will try to pick it up and read it again. I have been trying to read this book for a month and can't get myself to read more then a chapter at a time.
