    more from this reviewer

    I expected so much more...

Let me put it bluntly: This book was almost painful to read. There were moments when I almost felt as if I were reading a creative writing project submitted by a high school student. It was contrived, almost juvenile, and at times the storyline made me feel like I was listening to an eight-year-old boy ramble on about his imaginary world. Like when my friend's son was bringing me into his play world one time, and he pulled some snips of electrical wire out of his pocket, held up the different colored strands and proceeded to tell me how they were DNA strands that he was going to...I don't know...morph into some hybrid or something. THAT's what this book was like for me. The ramblings of a child's mind.

At times, the book seemed almost pedantic, as if Cook was throwing around big words and medical jargon to show off.

This definitely was not what I expected of Robin Cook, one of the premier medical thriller authors. I struggled to stick with it. The last 100 pages I found myself constantly counting how many pages I had remaining to endure before I got to read a REAL story!

I may have liked this story at 12 years of age, but not at 40. If you are above the age of 17, I say, "Avoid this book!" There are so many better yarns out there to entertain your mind!

    Very, very poor

Cannot believe anyone would publish such a sophmoric and ridiculous book. You will be sorry if you spend money on this thing. I'm disgusted.

    Good not Great

I am a big fan of Robin's because of what and how he writes. It's not my usual choice for reading, but when I read it I'm always thrilled. This wasn't my favorite Robin Cook book ever, but it definitely had the Robin flare and kept me turning pages.

Has me on the edge of my seat

This story, although a bit difficult to follow at first, has my attention and I can't wait to read what happens next! People mutating, and some dying just by the touch of a pebble-like object, and being turned into an army to take over the earth. Great suspense! I love the writing style of Robin Cook.

    Suspenseful

It was a very interesting book. It was a combination of medical thriller and science fiction. It made you believe the events really could happen. I would recommend this book.

    Great Book!!!!

I just loved this book. It seemed very real. I was almost afraid I would discover a disc in real life somewhere. I would recommend this book to anyone who love sci-fi type stuff.

Good enough to keep me up at night

Robin Cook's Invasion started out a bit cliched. After the first two chapters I figured it was just another alien story ripped off from X-files. The characters are a little generic, and at times even comical. Nevertheless the action is good enough to make you want to keep reading, in bed at 2 in the morning.

    Excellent book!!

this book seems so real that I almost expect to find one of the black disks in my own back yard!the realism of the story is terrifying , but the suspense keeps even the most cowardly of readers from putting the book down
