Great Laugh Out Loud Book

I was very pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. I actually laughed out loud many times while reading it. I wanted a light, easy read and this was just right. Highly recommended if you are not looking for a deep, intense book. I am looking forward to ...

Highly recommended if you are not looking for a deep, intense book. I am looking forward to reading more of Karen Quinn's books.

Trying to hard

The book starts ok enough but goes into the sublime and ridiculous. Can you fit anymore sex, death, power and money in a story.Trashy

    quick read

This was an interesting take on the New York Elite from a family perspective. I found it entertaining and pretty mindless. However, it wasn't predictable.

    gradual momentum

I chose this book purely as a diversion from my usual murder mysteries. Living far from the bustle of New York City I'm always amused by the strange ecosystem that exists only there. Only in NYC would families pay $20,000 for guidance on getting their children into the "best" kindergartens. I great diversionary read.

    Funny, light read

This book had me hooked by the 2nd page. Funny, light and witty read. A few parts were a little unbelievable and far fetched, but added to the book's character. Perfect beach read.

    It Can't Be True

While reading this lovely tale, I wanted to disbelieve some of the antics of the characters, but in my heart they seemed just too real. I am sure much truth was exposed in the guise of jest. I found Ivy loveable, memorable and quite human. It did not have 'perfect' fixes for the problems of the characters, but it did make peace for everyone involved. I would love to see Ivy in another adventure, something less potentially dangerous to her state of being.

A great book you won't want to put down...

This is another Nanny Diaries type selection. It is an easy read and the author draws you in with outlandish, yet believable characters. I truly enjoyed this book and it was one I would recommend to any of my friends.

    Ready for the next book

I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more books from this highly talented writer. Parts were very far-fetched to me and the ending was not what I expected, but I honestly couldn't put it down. If you enjoy escaping from reality and seeing what it's like to be a wealthy Manhattanite this is just what you need.

Couldn't put it down ... a fast and funny read!

What a great book!! I tend to be a fast reader, but the book was so enjoyable I was up until 1 am reading it. I just couldn't put it down. I was laughing out loud several times -- my husband insisted I share the funny bits! We don't have kids yet, but boy I sure hope we're living in the 'burbs by then so we don't have to deal with this sort of kindergarten madness. Karen Quinn definitely knows these Manhattan parents from her experience -- I was wondering just how close to reality they really were!
