    A beautifully written and illustrated work

    As a Tolkien fan from the College (TTU,1981)I have reread most of his works at least 5 times, but never read much of his biographies. This work is a reissue, updated of an earlier work some 13 years before. The pictures by the Brothers Hildebrandt are a nice addition to a superb text which focuses the structure of Tolkien and his Middle Earth with out sounding too academic. I think this is a great edition for the Tolkien novice and fan alike.
