    Quick, healthy and good

I work full-time and have been cooking from this book for a couple of years. All the recipes I've tried are now standards in my kitchen. They are practical, easy and true to the French roots for flavor and freshness.

I a new cook book buyer, I have stumbled upon this book and decided to try it. The dishes and variety are amazing and I have tried a few with great success.

    Presentation

I like Pepin's simplistic menus that seem like they took hours to prepare. His ingredients are easy to find at the supermarket and the directions are uncomplicated. I turn to this recipe book for inspiration on the spur of the moment. Fast meals is what I'm always looking for and there are pages of them inside.

    Fast Food, GOOD Food

Have always been a little intimidated by the masters of haute cuisine, especially Julia Child and Jacques Pepin, as they used to appear together on a TV show. Googled a recipe the other day for split chicken, roasted and came up with "Mustard-crusted chicken" by Jacques Pepin. It was NOT very complicated and after about an hour and a half, prep time included, it was done. This chicken is by far one of the very best I've ever had, and I include eating out. Could not resist looking up M. Pepin's phone number (we live in the same town and I have seen him shopping now and then) to tell him how great the recipe is! He was pleased to hear. I have since made a gratin of penne, ham and vegetables that was also superb! Both these dishes would work well for company. My next effort will be the beef tenderloin stew (once I find a butcher who will sell me about half a tenderloin at sale price!)

    Bon appetit!

    I Also Recommend:

    fast recipes really work

I have only just started using this cookbook but it seems to live up to the advertising. I got it after catching the TV show once. French cooking with fresh ingredients is very delicious but generally takes hours or days. Other books have quick recipes but the results are often mediocre. Chef Pepin has done a nice job selecting the sweet spot of good and fast. Nigella Express is a similar idea but so far Fast Food My Way seems better.

Moves chef recipes into a cook's format

This cookbook brings cordon bleu cooking into the home kitchen. The recipes are easy to follow with a good picture of expected results.

I CAN NOT THINK OF ANY BETTER TITLE FOR THIS ICON.

LIKE I SAID I LOVE EVERYTHING HE DOES AND LOVE EVERYTHING FRENCH. FRENCH LANGUAGE IS MY HOBBY TO LEARN, AND I WOULD LOVE TO LEARN OR PARTICIPATE IN SOME SHOW WITH YOU, WHERE YOU CAN TEACH VEGETARIAN FRENCH HAUTE CUISINE. THIS IS ONE OF MINE MANY DREAMS...
