    Interesting concept, but poor execution

I loved the concept of the story (read the synopsis). I think it could have been good if done well.

However, I had two problems with it. First, the main character was making leaps in thinking that were neither logical nor small. It kept jolting me out of the story, thinking, "Where did that come from?" or "How did he make that leap?" The leaps were what I was expecting to happen, eventually, but they came without warning, without the work and thinking that should have led to them. There was no seeing the growth. Just teleporting from point A to point Z, so to speak.

The second problem is more difficult for me to pin down. It felt like that characters were either acting illogically or just didn't seem authentic. I couldn't understand the characters' actions, past and present. Intellectually, I could, because it followed logic and the expected pattern, but it didn't seem like the story earned it.

I suppose that is the point of this review. The story didn't earn its ending. I wouldn't recommend it.

    Don't Bother

I wouldn't suggest this book to anyone. The characters didn't have any back story until it seemed silly to give it, leaps in thinking were made that left me wondering why, and everything seemed to progress at a weird rate.

Besides al that, it says there are 280 pages, but it skips from 2 to 5 pages with every page turn. You end up with about 150 readable pages, if that.
