I have only made one recipe so far and I can't wait to make more. The title explains it all, new British comfort food, but this book is so much more. Every recipe is provided with a titillating photograph that makes your mouth water. It is Mr. Oliver's instruction, however, that make the book. He writes the recipes as though he is right next to you in the kitchen giving instruction: "a handful or two of berries" or "a knob of butter" or "a good smear" of something. I’m not sure if these are legitimate measuring systems in the U.K. but to me it lends to the ease and unpretentiousness these recipes stand for.
