Wilhelm Kempff interprets Bach, Handel and Gluck
Wilhelm Kempff does a fine job of putting to piano these selections by Bach, Handel and Gluck. Sure, it's not harpsichord, and I know Kempff though his Beethoven recordings, so this may not be for the music history purist. I originally selected this CD for the title piece and soon found this disk to be full of delightful surprises, inspiring me in my own piano playing. This CD is played often and still remains in the player as one of our three favorites, whether it's to drown out the neighbor's dog, or to learn a new way to play an old piece, or to simply to enjoy for the sake of its own beauty and the sense of peace that it conveys.
