What a great read. From the first page, I was challenged, inspired, and driven till the very end. This book stimulated my desire to follow Jesus more wholeheartedly and richly, and I think that most readers will have the same reaction.

Wayne Cordeiro's Jesus: Pure and Simple centres on one thing--Jesus. He is the beginning and the end. I really appreciated this refreshingly simple view. Focus on Jesus and Jesus alone is difficult in a world of self and other commitments, but it doesn't have to be, and this book brought that simplicity to light.

There were so many notes to highlight in this book; so many thoughtful quotes to remember. Here are some I've copied out:

"Because God created you in His image, the more you become like Jesus, the more you become the person you were created to be. It is in Him that you actually find fulfilment, not in religious activities (as good as they may be) or in serene settings that give you a needed respite from your harried workplace. He is not the rest from our labors. He is the rest in our labors."

"Jesus did not come to complicate the gospel; He came to simplify it without compromising its purity."

Every new chapter had something that touched me. I highly recommend if you are in need of some refreshment and push closer to Jesus. Add this one to your reading list. For more information on Wayne Cordeiro, visit his church website or Facebook page.

I first picked this book because Christmas is coming, and I figured I would enjoy a nice spiritual read. I was right. This book talks about all different ways to be closer to Jesus. The book starts off with reasons why you need to get back, including forgetting prayers beliefs of the faith. The book is then divided into chapters of how to get back to Jesus. I really liked chapter 8 Internal corrections. This chapter basically states that if you are not thinking, acing and believing correctly inside, then you never will spiritually. I liked this chapter because I believe that to be true in everything I do. If my heart is not in it, then how are you ever to feel connected? If you are not thinking clearly then how do you expect to reach your goals? I believe this to be true in life, love, business and of course spirituality.

This book is very easy to read and is very easy to understand. It was a fast read for me, but I learned a lot of ways to be closer to Jesus without moving mountains. That is the exact purpose of this book. Simple ways to get back to Jesus in pure ways.

I was given this book from Bethany House for the purpose of a review, however all opinions are my own.

A book for the new babe in Christ, to the most seasoned child of God. Every page packed with life stories....A how to book that can be used for your own studies or in a small group.
Should be more than five stars.
