My Spiritual life has been suffering so much lately.. I won't go into details, but I haven't been to church in well over 6 months. I have been missing and longing for that connection with God. When I cracked open this devotional, from the first page, every verse has been so helpful. Tears ran from my cheek as I read the very first devotional. It is exactly what I needed.

There is a devotional for each day by date. I never can seem to read them that way. I always seem to start with Jan. 1 even though it's almost June. Mrs. Young really speaks from her heart and has done a beautiful job writing this devotional. It reads the way I would personally talk to God. I think it is absolutely wonderful.

5 stars... buy worthy.

No doubt that Sarah Young has written an inspiring, beautifully penned short pieces of writing based on Sarah's own personal journey notes where she claimed are based on God's impression upon her heart. Her writings were written in first person pronoun, so that, as the readers read them, it is as if, God is speaking directly to them. Whether those words are the direct results of God's speaking to her, no one can verify as they are subjective and personal.

Although these notes are scripturally based, but, I do find her to be rather presumptuous of her to relay those words to the readers as if God is speaking to them in the exact manner and arrangement. Our God is a God of creativity and He can use any part of the Bible at different times and in different manner to speak to different people of different background through the Holy Spirit. The danger of these kinds of writings would be to promote readers to rely on reading them exclusively and not through the Bible. A good devotional writer would be one who would encourage his/her readers to depend and rely more and more on the Holy Bible to understand the guidance and will of God with the help, guidance and illumination of the Holy Spirit, Thus, serving pieces of writing like these would be as if she is serving pieces of chewed food for re-ingestion.

Therefore, although these writings are inspiring, the readers should ultimately rely on the Holy Spirit and the Bible alone and not through secondary means in order to draw close to God.

I started reading this devotional as a gift from a friend.  As I got into the book, it became clear to me that something about this devotional seemed odd.  A spiritually discerning person would be able able to identify this book as a book saturated with mysticism and New Age philosophies.  I would not recommend this book to any of my friends.

    Doula Faith

The problem with this devotional is that it reads as a horoscope. Describing to anyone who reads the daily "prediction" what they will experience as coming from God as though Jesus were speaking directly and personally to the reader. The author attaches scripture to the spititual dialogue removing scripture out of its context. A sincere Christian or even non-Chrisrian wanting to hear from God could fall into this trap. Young never mentions coming into a relationdhip with Christ through the gospel message. I actually experienced some of the predictions she described and on one day in particular became ill on the very day it was mentioned. A BELIEVER WHO HAS FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST does not need a mediator. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God not by following any person's message. The Lord allowed me to suffer the consequences of being comforted by Sarah Young instead of by Himself through His Word. Anyone taking seriously her words as though Jesus were speaking thru her will fall into a trap. Seek Gods salvation and truth directly thru His Word for yourself and not thru a daily devotional that poses to be the voice of God. I am praying for everyone who reads this book that the Lord would expose the deception. And when you discover the truth, know that the Lord loves you and will reveal Himself to anyone who is seeking the Truth. His Word is Truth.

    Stunk! And cost ten bucks!

I was expecting a comprehensive, step by step guide to yang style tai chi. What I got was a poorly done essay and some horribly confusing instructions. This book is expensive garbage!
