    The Essential Place to Start

This is the book that will get you started and that you'll keep coming back to. While most tomes on the subject read like chemistry books, Ms. Garey makes it fun. Just about all of the science is covered in the first few chapters in an understandable way and the remainder of the book covers recipes to make wine from just about anything that grows. Anyone truly can make good, drinkable wine and she shows you how. If you're thinking about trying to make wine, read THIS BOOK first.

    Friendly, helpful reference

This is a great book for beginning winemakers. The author lays it all out in an amicable, easy to understand fashion that includes lots of anecdotes about her own experience.

Good book but if your interested in making grape wine find a new book

This book has a lot of useful information and was referred to me because I am just starting out in the home wine making hobby. This book helps out a great amount if you are interested in making fruit wine but not so much with making wine from grapes. It was still a good book just not what I thought was intended with the information. My goal is to make wine from grapes not fruit but hey I just might try a few fruit wines after reading this book.

Very informative, and not written like a text book

I enjoyed reading the book, it explained the entire process well and I will feel perfectly comfortable attempting to make my first batch of dandelion wine this spring!
