Junie B and a Book Fair project

I bought this book for my son after he read the Junie B - Toothless Wonder for his book fair project. He really likes the Junie B series and seems to relate to the way that Junie B faces her day, friends, teacher, and family. In first grade my son had to switch schools which was difficult for him. Not only that, my son was going through vision therapy! So it seemed that he and Junie were going down the same path together! Its funny how a book can help you through transitions but I think this book helped my son to feel that others go through similar things and that it would all work out.

If you want to get your kids involved with Junie B I would also suggest Toothless Wonder.
My son picked this book for his Book Fair project. At first I just thought it was about Junie losing a tooth (which my son had recently done). After reading the book I was delighted to see that it spoke about how Junie felt about losing the tooth as well as tying the subject into Recycling. What a fun way to incorporate things that kids already relate to with larger topics like recycling.
