Just As Good is a good title for this story, because that’s exactly what this story is. It’s the light-hearted story of Kitt, an African-American and Evan, a Caucasian, finally making it official over the Christmas Holiday. It’s a typical tale of two love birds that have made a life together, but the guy has not popped the question yet. Kitt is frustrated, but it’s clear that neither is going anywhere, because they are so in love.
At his family’s Christmas gathering, there’s really not too much drama. Evan’s family is as perfect as any family could get. They go to church and everyone is so friendly and the banter between them is well-written. Also, Evan’s family loves Kitt already. They are elated when he finally proposes. However, when one of Kitt’s old flames stops by, Evan has to man up and let him know (and Kitt know in the bedroom) that Kitt is his woman.
It’s good to read a wholesome romance where both parties are exceptional people. The writing was good, and I enjoyed it. Overall, this is a short and sweet work. It’s a good holiday read.
